How has that experience translated to titles in High School? Lex Cath hasn't won since '07 I believe. PT? They've won maybe 2 State Titles? Tons of talent but rarely translates into trips to L'ville.

So, about 60-40 on winning. And if you take out names like: Mayfield and Belfry because they were successful before this organization existed it's really closer to 50-50 on winners.

 

So there are some benefits but not perfect ones. I am curious who the Middle School winners were since the creation. I hear a lot of programs cite their MS Titles that really don't even make it to Louisville.

Trinity, Highlands and Desales dont have MS programs, its all done through youth league (and it works for them.)

Trinity and Desales get the benefit of the CSAA function that culminates with the Toy Bowl.

 

I have seen the youngsters playing on the field down the hill at Highlands on a Saturday - it seems somewhat connected to the HS program in some manner.

 

The high schools who work with their associated middle schools seem to get a jump start. Being part of KYMSFA seems to generate more interest.

So as not to completely derail this thread, this will be my final comment on this here. Being part of the KYMSFA is fine and probably a positive experience for those who participate. It absolutely is not a necessity to be a member school to be successful in varsity football.

In systems where schools have multiple middle schools it's very advantageous to not have middle school football.

After reading the rival thread on belfry, it looks like us Rebel fans may as well settle for runner up. They have all but give the trophy to Belfry. So the 92 players we have and 20 seniors and best qb in 3 A need to focus on other things.

Is it true that Josiah has to miss the first 2 games for suspension? They say because he got thrown out of his last baseball game, which was his second ejection of the year. I sure hope this is not true. Somebody fill me in!

No. He has to sit out two baseball games. He is fine for football.
