My heart is so heavy tonight for Mrs PH. When I talked to her today she could say one word....He's gone. I am just so very sorry for her. May God welcome MrPH home into His loving arms.

Very sorry to hear. Prayers for his soul as well as for Mrs PH and the rest of the family and friends.

So sorry to hear this news. May God wrap the family in his arms and help them to find the strength during this time. RIP Purple Haze

Condolences from our family.

I never met PH but from reading BGP I felt like I had. To hear he has passed makes my heart extremely heavy.

My prayers are with Mrs PH, PH's family, and everyone that he touched in his life.

This is both a sad and joyful day. PurpleHaze was a good friend and special person who will be sorely missed. Nevertheless, I draw some consolation in the fact that he is no longer in pain, and now resides in a special place with Christ.

Praying of strength for the family and quickly getting to the point where all memories of PH are of the happy days......

This makes me sad. The Lord has gained a great one. Deepest condolences to the PH family.

Such a wonderful post a few days back with PH's - I'm Baaaaack!

Gave us a false sense that the worst had passed and that he was over this hump.

PH and Mrs. PH are part of the fabric of this website. We reveled with him when his Purples would score a victory on the gridiron and he would be there for them.

So sad! He had to overcome so much in his short life.

May he serve as an inspiration to all of us!

Sorry to hear this very sad news, prayers sent to the PH family.

Thank you all so much for all the prayers and thoughts. When he passed Thursday, I was told that I needed to plan everything in one day. So, Fri, my brother helped me from 8 in the morning until 11 that night. I did not have much time to digest what had happened. Then we had the viewing on Sat with an open casket for the family and closed for friends....Details I would rather not go into except to say that decision was made by the director of the funeral home. PH wore his HS football jersey like he always did at all games. He looked wonderful...just like his ole self. He always said he did not want people crying at his funeral....well, a lot of times there was laughter...Judge Steve Wilson was WONDERFUL at telling stories of when Mike and he were going to school....all funny stories!!!

I miss him so very much...have been so busy since Thursday and that has helped some. He was and is the love of my life. We had 29 wonderful years knowing each other and 25 wonderful years married. I feel so empty and sick inside. I really don't know how people get over this feeling. I have been trying so hard to be strong for my family and friends. Michael always told me to never give up and never get in. I am trying hard to make him proud by staying strong like he has his whole life.

I want to say a special thanks to Rockmom for EVERYTHING she has done and all the info she has given me....I really do not know what I would have done without that info. There are so many lose ends to tie up and will take a while, however, I will make it through all of this and I will survive....Mike would want no less than that. I love you all as much as Mike did and I love Mike for all he has done and is still doing for me. I do know that he is in no more pain and his body is whole now. RIP my sweet, sweet man You continue to make me so proud....

Can't imagine the pain you are going through, Mrs. PH. But I know you have a super strong support system here that cares a lot about you and PH. Stay strong!

PH was a very special guy. His passing leaves a big void here, in the Bowling Green family, and most importantly with Mrs. PH and those who loved him in his daily life. Mike was an incredible human being and probably the strongest person I have ever known. His story is one of resolve and inner strength, and he was a survivor. I know I am a better person for knowing him.

You are in our prayers Mrs PH, and like Deuce said, you have a strong support system here.
