Elderly woman pays $164G a year to live life of luxury on cruise ship

If she has $4,000,000 put away, this is a great way to wind down in life. I guess it doesn't matter how much she has if she isn't worried about leaving any for someone else, obviously I have no idea about that.

That would get boring after about a month.

That's pretty neat. New people to meet each week, different countries to visit regularly, multiple activities each day and night; seems like a nice way to finish this life out.

When I'm old, that's the kind of boring I'd be down for. Better than living in a retirement home.

She is 87. This is not really that different from an assisted living situation. I think that many old people, especially widowed, are lonely. What a great way to be around people, especially younger people every day.

Won't be anyway to prove it really, but it will probably have extended her life.

Come on Deuce. You'd be hitting on those 60 year old widowed women like crazy. You'd have a new one every cruise. :D

:lol2: Hey, you have hit a new idea ... cruise nursing homes.

She would be spending $50 to $100 TUSD in a nursing home, so why not? My Mom was on the alzheimers plan....she met all new people every day, but the scenery wasn't as good.

HOWEVER, I am doing some genealogical research to ascertain if I may be this lady's long lost nephew.

My issue is, my bar bill would equal the rest of the bill, rendering such a plan unaffordable.

Yes my guess though is at 164 K she has unlimited everything on the ship. The lovely lady sent this article to the kids last night and said this was her new Assisted living plan. I have no idea where she is going to get the dough, though. My life insurance will cover a year.

My girlfriend met an elderly lady during a cruise a couple of years ago who does the exact same thing. I think she has to spend a week here and there on land to change ships, etc, but evidently it's no more expensive to do what she was doing than it was to live in a nice apartment in NYC, which is where she was from.
