In my earlier post on this, I suggested capping them at $120 million — the expected new number is going to be somewhere around $140 million. Then by halftime the balls were all found to be under the legal level. So not hard to see that the Pats intentionally deflated the balls once the game started, since they knew they had already been checked.

January 21, 201511 yr Prove to me they weren't leaky balls? They are professional footballs made for the NFL. The same type of footballs the Colts use. The Colts had 12 footballs at the game too, and none of their football's suddenly leaked and became deflated. Now if the Pats maybe had one or two that were, you may have a point. However the fact is all 12 football were found to be deflated, and 11 of them were found to be deflated lower than the limit. So yes you have two different groups here of the same type of football, one group doesn't deflate and the other group does. That seems to show pretty good evidence, that something had to be done for the one group to have its football deflate and the other group not.

January 21, 201511 yr I am a Pats fan (not as much as UKMustang but a fan) and I am very disappointed in the Pats. I am also a HUGE Brady fan. One thing that is funny is that EVERYBODY is blaming Belichick for this. What if he had no idea and it was Brady going to the equipment guy and having this done? Brady is the one that benefits the most so I think it is plausible. What if Brady has had this done for years? I have always thought Brady was the best QB of this generation (better than Peyton) but if Brady has been getting away with this for a long time, I am not happy with him at all.
January 21, 201511 yr BTW, I think Goodell HAMMERS the Pats over this. He almost has to or will be accused of slapping them on the wrist since he is buddies with Kraft. Unless the Patriots come up with a plausible explanation very quickly, Belichick is going to be very light in the wallet and enjoying about half a season of vacation next year IMO. You have to think Goodell's phone is exploding right now with p'd off owners wanting him to rip the Pats a new one.
