9th region refs didn't stop it last year at Holmes when James Bolden started talking smack to Pig Williams. And what makes you think Williams started the smack talk last night? :idunno:

Shocker, Holmes fans blaming the referees when it was obvious they were dominated last night by a very underrated Mason County team who was playing without two starters. A loss is a loss move and and get over it.

Difference between 9th and 10th...as soon as 9th officials saw the two jawing, they would have stepped in and told both to knock it off. 10th officials just sit there and stare.

But Bolden pushes and talks trash too! Williams was just returning the favor and Williams was just letting his defense do the talking!

Never said Bolden wasn't talking too.

 

I watched Pig Williams, several times, push Bolden out of his way during dead balls. That's what started the jawing by Bolden. Then during free throws, smack Mullins on his chest saying "i got this man" then Mullins would smack his hand down and Pig would do it again. And again, the tall young ref stands two feet away and watches this go on but says nothing.

 

You're naive if you don't think Pig was doing that stuff to try and get in their heads. It obviously worked because Holmes played terrible and started jawing back but don't act like he did nothing. I have the video with it right in front of me and would be more than happy to post it if you'd like. Even the Mason assistant principal standing next to me made the comment that he wishes Pig would stop jawing and just play basketball.

Beetle had no answer to Pig Williams' defense, Absoulutly stellar against one of the best scorers in the state. Very Imprresive

Where is anyone blaming refs? I believe every NKY supporter who was there has said Mason dominated them start to finish.

 

I was simply pointing out it wasn't Pig Williams defense that caused Bolden to have an off night. He simply missed shots he nomally makes. I'm editing the video right now and have already watched Bolden blow by him 3 times only to miss a floater at the rim.

 

If anything, it was Dorian Henry's presence that caused him to have an off night...not Williams.

9th Region refs let it go awhile before stopping when they played Scott.

10th Region refs stopped it immediately in the second matchup.

 

The specific crew probably has more to do with it than lumping regions together. Holmes talks a lot. More so than any team in the 9th and 10th that I've seen in the last several years. Most of the time the talking gets Holmes fired up and they play well. Must not have been the case this time.

Again, where did I say he was the only one jawing...difference is, he was jawing with several Holmes players, It wasn't just him and Bolden going back and forth.

 

I watched him have exchanges with Mullins, McClendon, Bolden, and Arnold. And again, I have all of this on video and am watching it right now for highlights of Henry if you'd like me to post it?

After watching Holmes vs Scott in the Lloyd Memorial tournament championship game I can say that's not a given.

 

Sitting behind Holmes bench with a buddy we heard some pretty vulgar things being said not only by Holmes players to Scott players, but also Holmes coaching staff including Listerman saying vulgar things toward Scott players as well.

 

Refs let them play and talk until what looked like a Holmes player and Scott's head coach going back and forth. But things had gotten out of hand from the control aspect of the ref's squashing it until then.
