Mason County 70 Holmes 46

Holmes has a very good team. Going into this game they were one of the hottest teams in the state. The outcome of this game changes nothing for me in regards to how I feel about Holmes. They simply had an off night. Holmes has played a very nice schedule and haven't really had a bad loss all year. I think Holmes just had a Tuesday night dud on the road and I look for them to bounce back vs Cov Cath. Holmes belongs in the top 25 there's no doubt about that, they just belong in the 20-25 range. Also almost every team comes out dunking in warm ups during the first 4 minutes or so, Holmes still stretches and runs drills just like every other team. This is one of the most disciplined and well coached Holmes teams I've seen play in a while, Coach L knows what he's doing. People are reaching way to far in this thread, Holmes simply struggled.

Must have been a brutal night for Beetle. According to the posted film, his three made 2pt baskets were basically layups, plus one 3pt FG.

Fine player and a fine team. I attribute their performance to nothing more than a Tuesday night, mid-January, far-away-from-home road game with little implications, against a quality team looking to make a statement against a state-ranked opponent. So some kids where jawing .. who cares?

Much ado about nothing .. justsayin

Can't say anything about the jawing because I wasn't there. Just know staff at Holmes that say Beetle is very respectful and loved by faculty and students alike. Not something you hear often about bad kids...so I suspect something is behind the "rest of the story". Coach Listerman cussing the opponents players..can't imagine that happening from this veteran gentleman and coach. Great win for Royals that distances them currently from rest of 10th.

Jawing on the court shod never be linked to a "good kid" debate. There simply is not a correlation.

Don't know Beetle. I do know that Friday night my boys and their friends hounded him for pictures and autographs and he was really, really cool with them. Made their night.
