Based on what I saw at practice on Thursday, Austin Beal was at strong safety, Sam Taylor at FS, Cory Stamper and Taylor Perez(sp) at corners.

 

This is the first week so I'm sure it will change. Plus baseball guys aren't back yet.

I am completely out of the loop. So what is going on with the program? Expect it to be pretty much like every year.

 

Offensive line is very experienced going in which is a big plus. Pretty decent receiving corps returning. A running back that has been a solid contributor the last two years. QB with all the physical tools, now just needs to put everything together.

 

Defense returns less, but that is always the case it seems like. Sure there are guys that have waited their turn and will be ready to step in and make plays.

 

Special team coverage units return most if not all kids. Would like to see the return game improve, especially punt returns. Kids are capable returners, but the blocking has not been the best the last few seasons.

 

Just more of the same, win, win, win....I think the "concern" about lack of information comes from the lack of turf from the spring. Not a concern at all.

 

Now if you go to the south part of Kenton county and drive across that bridge, well that's a different story...but it's more of a fantasy than anything. :thumb:

Happen to stop by the School the other day to check out progress on new field. Started laying new surface. Lots of work to be completed before mid Aug. Saw football team in the Valley. Well whats left of it. Half the team was inside Fieldhouse and the other on new grass field down there. Counted close to 100 players. Impressive numbers. All I could see was that they did look fast down there on grass. Can't wait to see them on the new "high speed" quality turf up top.

110 is the number that I am being told. That is probably 1/4 of the boys population in the school.

I think the new locker room has 104 suites. Guess some will have to double up.

On a side note, I did hear and see that they have scrapped the plan to go for 2 all year by putting up new goal posts that will meet regulation.

They put a few yards down yesterday and were putting down more this morning. They were beginning to sew the individual sections together. The colors really pop.

I hear there will be no more father painting nights because the non-green areas are actually colored turf. No need to paint.

I am not aware of any major injuries and the pieces seem to be falling into place.
