January 7, 201511 yr I'll take Indy driver also. Ever since Marcia Brady took a football to the nose, I've have a fear of balls to the face. Lots of action cures fear.:whistling:
January 7, 201511 yr Baseball I would likely have the longest career of the big 3 and make the most money. Come up as a SS/CF and convert to a corner IF or OF spot would be the life. Basically if I could be Torii Hunter. 39 years old and just signed a 10.5 million dollar contract.
January 7, 201511 yr Baseball. Corner infielder- catchers and pitchers have too many surgeries, and my add couldn't handle being in the outfield or DH. Lots of games and less practice. Play in the summer and spend half of it in other cites enjoying the amenities. End your career with a healthy body.
January 7, 201511 yr Shortstop for the Miami Marlins. Shortstop was always my favorite position in all of sports and while point guard is a close second I always felt more satisfaction when playing shortstop. I always had the mindset that anything hit in my direction would be caught and the challenge of proving that over and over again is a challenge I would rise to in baseball more than any other sport. There isn't a more gratifying feeling than making a diving stop of a seed trying to make it into the gap that you glove, pop up and gun out the runner by a split second. I miss those moments. #getoffmydiamond It was always a dream of mine as a kid to play shortstop for the New York Mets but now that I am older and have a deep seated hate for cold weather and a natural fondness for hot weather Miami seems to be the perfect destination. Plus they just made Stanton a 300 million dollar man and I'm not greedy or nothing so I'd happily take a hometown discount of 250 million to shine at shortstop for the Miami Marlins. I'd have been so much better than Jeter's overrated tail.
January 7, 201511 yr DH. Paid to hit. Boom. Enforcer, hockey....paid to hit, and hit, and hit, and hit.......
January 7, 201511 yr Old Fashioned #10 in soccer. Little defensive responsibility, little in goal scoring, but I would spray passes everywhere. Growing up it would have been an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense like Taylor, Tippet, Thomas and the like.
January 7, 201511 yr First baseman. While I like batting, I can't imagine just sitting around for 1/2 of the game being the DH. Pitchers are used sporadically, (all things considered)...and catchers end up with too much wear and tear on the knees and legs. So, take away those two, and the first baseman is probably involved in more plays than anyone else, without the risk of injury. And if you're good enough with the bat and the glove, you could play for 20 years with relatively no problems. Plus, you'd get to talk to any of the other team who got on base.
January 7, 201511 yr Enforcer, hockey....paid to hit, and hit, and hit, and hit....... … and be hit, repeatedly, in the head. Been reading all the stories about ex-NHL enforcers struggling with CTE? Some very depressing stories. Plus, the enforcer role is being phased out of hockey these days. Not much of a future in that.

January 7, 201511 yr NFL kicker. I still regret to this day of not trying out for kicker back in high school. My Jr. & Sr. year the crew I hung out with would always bet money on who could kick the longest field goals. I would make them from 35 to 45 yards out, and I'm sure with practice I would have hit them with consistency. Hell, I probably could have hit that 18 yarder on the last play of the 1983 State Semi-Final game, that NewCath lost 8-7 to Somerset. :idunno:
January 8, 201511 yr Hmm let me go through the options: Kicker- back in high school I would go to the field with friends and routinely hit 45 yarders. 50 yarders eluded me as I would hit either the crossbar or uprights, every single time. Never once did I miss a 50 yarder short (other than crossbar short), just never made one. I could make good money in the NFL for little work if I was an elite athlete as the OP states. Quarterback- I always said if I played football I would have been a QB. I throw a good ball and live for pressure situations. Shortstop- In my career I was a middle infielder. The idea of being the leader of the infield and turning a double play in a key situation really gets the blood flowing. Goalie- playing for the U.S. in the World Cup and making a huge save would be the coolest thing in the world. Basically being Tim Howard would be sweet. Pitcher- the thought process that goes into an at bat while on the hump has always been a favorite of mine. Mixing up pitches, hitting spots and knowing if you do your job you put your team in a good position is awesome. I closed quite a bit in HS without a lot of "stuff" (velocity, break, etc) and was pretty successful so if I was a top of the line athlete, I think I would be even better. In the end I think I'd have to choose shortstop since baseball is my first love and they are on the field all game unlike a pitcher. Plus I like batting.
January 8, 201511 yr First thing that came to mind was hands down a major league 1st baseman for the reasons CincySportsFan and Im4theCats mentioned earlier. Great pay, longevity, and very little wear and tear on the body. There's only one problem with it...I enjoy spring and summer outdoors hunting, grilling, fishing, coaching baseball, etc to have to spend it on a diamond for that length of the year. So my go to would have to be NFL Punter. 8-12 years of great pay as long as I kick a football 40+ yards making that sort of $$$. I'd become a master of my craft. And literally have from February-July to enjoy a lot of free time with family and friends. Don't have to deal with the critics and stress of a FG kicker responsibilities. So the freedom of enjoying the seasons of spring and summer more would sway me towards NFL punter. :thumb:
