A certain writer (Courier-Journal for Louisville) told me it's where the talented players are, not a bias

The kid that got slighted in my humble opinion from Louisville Trinity is Landon Corolla, although he made 2nd team AP & 3rd team CJ there's no way this kid isn't 1st team on any ballot anywhere, led Trinity in tackles etc, was a nightmare to block for anyone, and I'm not his dad, uncle, relative or anyone, just a huge Rock fan! Congrats to every kid mentioned!!

Every year these lists are a complete joke. I don't know why we keep complaining.

Caldwell County must have won State with all those studs.

If I vote for Sindelar (Mr. Football, D-I guy) and Hoge (D-I guy), I DON'T have room for Zuberer on my ballot.

 

Each voter only votes for two QBs and that's it.

 

Krupinski from Central Hardin (undefeated regular season) and John Wilson (Hardin-LaRue-Meade Area offensive player of the year as selected by coaches/newspaper) didn't make it either (granted Wilson made it at DB).

 

Krupinski was the offensive MVP of the East-West Senior All-Star Game (Team Kentucky vs. Team Louisville) a few weeks ago.

 

QB Reese Ryan didn't make it either and he was considered a preseason Mr. Football contender.

 

Lots of deserving QBs. Only two votes per voter (and I would think many voted for Sindelar or Hoge ... or both).

 

Not on Honorable Mention????? Just shocked the Messenger didn't vote for him.

4 Lafayette players? I watched them play SK had a bunch of better football players!

 

Well to be fair all 4 of those players will be playing D-1 football. Lucky Jackson and Devon Quincy at WKU. Landon Young is committed to Kentucky while Jedrick Wills has offers from Kentucky, WKU, and South Carolina as just a sophomore.

And the NKY kids may not get looks. The thing is that there is football played all over this state. Not just in NKY. That seems to be forgotten by many posters. All the Caldwell kids are very deserving. All 6 were standouts. Congrats to every player on the list. Very proud to be a tiger.

Well then thank you for the sacrifices of the NKY talents who didn't get the deserved notoriety. It made a group of other athletes, outside the area, season made that much more special. Clip those newspaper articles boys and congratulations!

 

Don't sweat it NKY athletes...we are proud of all of you. Win by playing at the next level, getting a good college education, and becoming a winner in the "game of life." That sentiment applies to any hs football athlete nationwide!

Actually just six players from Caldwell County. The kid with the last name "Caldwell" doesn't count. :lol2:

What does having looks got to do with it. What exactly did Caldwell win with these six STUD athletes. That is right nothing. This whole team/process is a joke and how anyone with a reasonable mind can stand up and defend it is a joke as well. The best football in the state of Kentucky is played in Louisville and NKY, period end of story. For only 2 kids to even be mentioned is a joke and an embarrassment to the whole process. Enough has been said about Vennemann already. How you can be a Mr. Football finalist and not make anything but honorable mention? Please.

Congratulations to all on the teams and HMs. If you are on this list you did something special that others took note of. Well done!

I will say that, not unlike the C-J All-State team, and even somewhat worse in this broad list - many more than deserving players were omitted. With All-State lists this large that just should not be the case.

 

Is also a shame that KHSAA does not post individual stats for defense leaders like it does for offense leaders.

 

Even though the KHSAA does this for offense it took this AP group to still leave obvious names of recognition off the list.

 

The A-P and the C-J are the broadest post-season recognition teams/lists. They should not omit obvious elite players. And yet they do - though C-J was better this year that past years (IMHO).

 

Again, congrats to all named - if you were named you did great things 2014.

Young and Veneman weren't snubbed. Both made honorable mention.

 

Which OL making first or second team do you want to knock off to make sure Young makes it?

 

Same for Venneman. Which WR needs to be demoted to make Venneman second team? Which receivers (plural) need to be knocked down to make Venneman first team?

 

For Venneman... demote every single one of them. Look at all the stats. How is he not the first one voted in?

2 of the 3 first team WR's have multiple D1 offers as Juniors and are outstanding players. Lucky Jackson (WKU commit) being second team is a bigger joke than Venneman being an honorable mention. Does Venneman have any D1 offers?
