It never gets old watching Brosky win the game! I grew up with Nick Brosky he was a great kid he died in a terrible car wreck coming back from Red River Gorge. He will never be forgotten!!!

How bout last year's semi-final game between Cov Cath and New Cath? Both teams could have won state (and Cov Cath went on to do so)

Didnt Deron Blasingame hit a buzzer beater for Highlands in 1987 for the crown over NCC?

Lots of great games listed here, and it took awhile but we got to some I remember well.

 

1993 Regional Final at Conner: Conner beats Holy Cross on a jumper at the buzzer. Fryman hit it I believe.

 

1989 Regional Semi at Holmes: Holy Cross beats Holmes in an epic up and down battle. Not sure of the final score, but both teams may have ended up in triple digits. Game may have been decided in extra minutes.

 

1991 Regional Final at Campbell County: Holy Cross beat defending state runner-up Holmes in a classic. Holmes had a lot back from the 90 runners-up. Holy Cross went on to the state semi's if I remember correctly.

Ooops... I keep forgetting that he was 2 years ahead of me in school because back in the Covington Recreation Leagues our team faced him every other year making me think that he was only 1 year ahead of me. He must have a birthday late in the year for him to have qualified as he did for the 'D', 'C', and 'B' leagues as he did while growing up.

I had a SRO spot on the baseline. Jerry Marshall did a number to Hungler's dome.

There was a huge charge call on Corey Pouncy, in transition that negated a basket late in that game. Jerry Marshall also had his full court desperation heave at horn hit the front of the rim. Holmes had beaten Cross by 32 and 27 earlier that year. Some felt the 1991 Holmes team was better than the 90 team that went to the finals. Cross was no slouch that year, they made it to the state semifinals.

 

There were some monster battles between Cross and Holmes in late 80's early 90's. In 1988, Holmes upset Cross in semis and then upset Campbell in their own gym to claim region.

 

The 1989 region semi had Cross winning 96-95.

Vories coaches 8th grade hoops at HMS. Married high school sweetheart and lives in the Fort.

Dave Malone I believe is an attorney and lives in the Fort as well. His wife is a school teacher at Moyer.

Sullivan is an administrator at Walton I believe.
