I will say the best game I ever saw was Bellevue knocking off Top Ranked NCC in 1982 in the District Opener. Jimmy Maher dropped 30pts on the Breds in Newport's brand new Gymnasium. Bellevue had a nice team that year with PG Doug Schulte, Tom Bosse, Maher, Doug Miller, Steve Crittendon, Jeff Schoultheis, etc.

I remember that WV team with Andy Burns playing in the All A Classic when it was held at Bellevue. Didnt Burns play with Scott Benton? Both were huge. Mustang maybe you can help with this one.

Burns graduated in 1981, Benton graduated in 1986.

 

Whenever I think of Scotty Benton, I always think of David Dinn from Boone County. They were both from the same era. There was a pretty good hoopster on this side of the Licking during that same time frame named Scott Draud.

 

Both Benton and Dinn went on to have tremendous careers at Wright State.

That was a great district from top to bottom. Didn't Conner beat SK twice that year? Boone had some excellent bigs also (Moeves at about 6'6" and Coffman at about 6'7").
