Knott County Central is undefeated at 7-0, but has not played nearly the schedule that CovCath has. Having said that, the Patriots boast one of the state's best 1-2 punches with Justice & Hall.

 

CovCath's lone loss was on the road against #1 Trinity & the Colonels have won 3 straight since then, including victories over St. Xavier & Campbell County.

I'll take KCC because they will have more points than CovCath.

Covcath is deeper, but KCC will have the two best players on the floor.

Justice about to face the lockdown, face guard defense of CovCath. I'm taking the Blue Colonels in this one. Knott will end up in foul trouble and/or exhaustion problems at the end of the game and have to sub some of the 6th graders from their bench.

The refs won't have an impact in this game in the sense that they will call things against one team and not the other.

I doubt the refs will have an impact on the outcome; that is ultimately up to the players' desire and will.

They can change the style and personnel, but the best team usually finds a way to win.

 

I know nothing about KCC except that Justice is the real deal. So, being 100% biased, I'll take the Colonels because I know how hard they play. Should be an exciting game regardless of who wins.

I disagree. Some refs will let you play, while other region refs will call every touch foul. Getting key players in foul trouble can influence the out come of the game, especially if your bench isn't very deep. If they are 16 region refs, some are good, while others are......:walk:

 

But it is a great experience for the teams and players to play against other regions and refs. as I believe this will help come post season when the outcome of the game really matters.

CVH takes the term face guarding to a whole new level. He will not let justice see anything but his face and big smile he gets when they are on a role.
