Ranking committee is a joke

Featured Replies

Again, study the financials of the teams I mentioned. I do not think viability of joining the Big 12 from a dollar standpoint is an issue.

Texas is King in the Big 12 financially.

If the others want to play ball with Texas, then they will.

However, more and more smaller schools are being pinched.

I agree it is a joke

Oregon struggles to be the Badgers, while the Buckeyes beat them by 52, with a 3rd string QB, making his first start.

Oregon didn't play Wisconsin this year. Ohio State beat Wisconsin 59-0.

The best thing for FSU is they aren't the 1 seed. If they were they'd have to play the best team of the 4 in the first game.

I got a head of myself.

I was attempting to be sarcastic and used the wrong teams.

I do think the way they, the committee did things sucked.

The teams that I mentioned are not being pinched to the point that they would consider dropping their programs. All of the programs I mentioned are financially stable and fiscally viable enough that they would relish the opportunity to join the Big 12 in football and get a share of the Big 12's football revenues, both realized and potential.

No chance Texas allows another in state team to join. Plus it adds zero value to the league. UT already dominates those markets...

A&M dominates the Houston market, but even with conceding the Texas teams you can add Cincinnati, Memphis, or Tulsa.

I would like to see the proof.

Show us the financials.

I could maybe see Houston if they ever went to 14. Right now the league needs to expand its footprint and bring in more markets to survive long term...

This is a great place to begin your studies.

I think everyone would agree that the two best and most viable options are BYU and Cincinnati. I do not think BYU wants to give up independence, however. I think this might force the conference's hand a bit to look at a Memphis or to fight for another Texas team. I think this playoff will force Bowlsby's hand to get off of the 10 is enough soapbox he has been on and get a conference title game.

It's easy to take shots at the committee this year. They had a nightmare scenario play out with all six teams winning the last week. NO MATTER WHAT FOUR TEAMS they selected, we would have had a thread that said the committee was a joke. I think they got the best four teams (not sure about the order) but if they dropped OSU for Baylor, I would have been OK with that. But then the TCU lovers on here would have had a cow. If they took TCU and not Baylor and OSU, all we would have heard was that Baylor beat TCU head to head (I would have been saying that). If they dropped FSU out, all we would hear is that they are undefeated...committee had no chance this year.

The committee format is not perfect but this system is still far better than the old bowl system or the BCS IMO. I still would like to see 8 teams however.

So he's from Dayton and didn't go to OSU.
