There is one in West Chester. Went there about a week ago. Waited in line for 45 minutes.

 

Zero chance I'm waiting in line for 45 minutes for chicken tenders. Of course, if you made a special a trip all the way to West Chester to get them, your kind of between a rock and a hard place.

 

Must be crazy good chicken though, as I've heard nothing but good things about the place.

 

As for Popeye's, last time I was in Indy there was one near the hotel. It was packed virtually all day long. Cars wrapped around the restaurant in the drive thru kind of packed. I've had it, and it's pretty good, but I was shocked the volume this place was doing.

I've found Popeye's to be kind of hit-or-miss. Some franchises get it right and others don't bother.

Since it's been such a long time since I received this information, and nothing has been done at the site, I revisited with my source of this.

 

He contends that McDonalds has leased the site and will eventually build there. He further stated that at present McDonalds has a moratorium on building new establishments.

 

When something is built there it will be a McDonalds.

@Mustang...any idea if there are any plans for what will go in the strip mall by Kroger in Highland Heights at the old BW3s/Dunkers/Growlers location?

 

Looked the sign that was on the door that said it was for sale isn't there anymore. Didn't know if someone potentially bought it.

It closed shortly after March Madness. After meeting with the owner a few weeks before, I honestly wasn't surprised.

 

I have no experience in running a bar/grill, but even I knew that there are certain things that you have to do. Putting signs up in your window of your great deals and that being your only marketing, isn't going to get you much business.

That and the fact that service was incredibly slow. Food was okay the one time I did eat there. Many businesses come and go around here because of the same problems IMO. It is all about the quality of the product, advertisement and most important is service, service, service. A bad early experience at a new place will most definitely turn a potential returning customer away.

Cane's is opening in Florence, on 18, near City BBQ and Mike's Car Wash, near the intersection of the road World of Sports is on. Should be open by October 1.

UK, Cane's can't even see KFC or Popeyes chicken strips from where they sit...they are that far apart. Get your toast BBS...you'll thank me.

It is all about the quality of the product, advertisement and most important is service, service, service. I spoke with him about their customer service and even showed him a few different people I know who complained about the service on Facebook. He said they would definitely take care of it, but who knows. Heck when our order was wrong once, the server said, "Yeah that happens when your cook is on coke". Great way to get repeat customers.

 

From my understanding, Growlers was doomed from the get-go because 3 business partners bought it together. One had quite a bit of restaurant experience, but it was all through chains. The guy I met with was most of a carpenter and was going to be doing a lot of the upgrades they were thinking about. Well the "experienced" guy really dropped the ball on everything in regards to marketing and I sensed a major rift. I knew it was a lost cause from there.

 

I felt like I was on Bar Rescue for a day or two haha! When he told me he wasn't going to change the sign on 27 from "Dunkers" to "Growlers" because he didn't have the money, I knew it would be closed soon. It wasn't a great spot but a nice alternative to Barleycorn's, O'Charley's and Applebee's if you live off 27 and don't want to go to a chain.

I might have missed this but why didn't B-Dubs make it in that location? It seems like with NKU growing each year that a Buffalo Wild Wings would be a hot spot in that location.
