Newport has a nice line and Price does a great job running the ball. But I think NCC has much greater depth and more offensive weapons. I'll take NCC by two touchdowns 35 - 22

Mrs. Lawnboy doesn't go to football games when the temp gets below 70, so you better bring an extra blanket for yourself.

Per a very valid source, this game will be played at Newport Stadium Friday night at 7pm. All this talk of it being played elsewhere can stop.

Thank you Mr. Knowitall.

Well, based on reading threads and seeing these two teams play and seeing the amount of personal fouls BOTH teams get flagged for I think whichever team can cut the crud out and not commit the personal foul penalties will win. Too much yardage being given away by both these two on these types of penalties.

If they don't, it will cost them when it hurts the most, be it this game or down the line.

If NCC did move the game it could be reason enough for Newport to tell NCC they're never using the field again. $1800 is a bargain. The rent should be minimum $2500 a game as it is now. Ncc could instead start playing their games on that field in Silver Grove. Just put up lights. I bet the Dairy Bar would love some extra business on Friday night.

I find it unbelievable that NCC has to rent fields and then they a few fans complain about the rental terms. If Holmes lets them play at Holmes for free that's Holmes's issue. Ncc should play at Holmes every week until there's not a blade of grass left on Holmes field.

This is likely the last year Newcath uses that field anyways so moving the game would have no effect on any future relations between the two.

From what I've heard, Newcath is playing at Thomas More in the near future, as soon as next season.

Holmes does not charge Holy Cross to play on their field, not an issue at all in Covington and/or with Holmes. This is referred to as good community relations and both school systems understand doing what is best for students. Too much sour grapes crap on this side of the Licking River with this Public / Parochial issue in Newport. You fail to remember that Newport field renovation involved tax dollars from families that send their students to NewCath and those families continue to pay taxes to support public education! $1800.00 is not a bargin, it is a crime!

If the game is NCC's home game, do they get the gate and concessions? Maybe that's at issue. I would imagine it gets worked out. The game belongs at Newport stadium.

I've heard the rumors about NCC playing at Thomas More for a couple years. That would be incredibly stupid. The field has no lights and would require Saturday afternoon games and that would conflict with TMC schedule.

What percentage of NCC players or stundents actually live in Newport to pay taxes? I would bet very few!
