They earned right to choose home field.

They earned right to choose home field.

Pretty much a neutral field game no matter where it's played, isn't it? A short bus ride to another NKY field really isn't going to make much of a difference. The interesting question is whether they are trying to get the game moved to a grass field stadium.

It takes Newport out of their own locket room and the field that they practice on. I don't know if there is any validity to this or not. I am just saying it is NewCath's choice where the game is played.

OK, I am confused. Are you being serious or joking? I thought you were joking but some responses make me wonder. Don't both teams use Newport Stadium as their home field?

I think if NCC tries to move the game from Newport that would be silly and furthermore could disrupt the good relations between the two schools. Why would NCC risk being able to play at Newport's field in the future for one playoff game. Play at Newport and let's see who the better team is. NCC has all the tradition, and Newport has had a super year.

No dog in the fight. I look forward to a great game next week.

Fair enough. If NCC feels like it gives them an advantage then they certainly have earned that right. But IMO it really doesn't make much of a difference.

Newport has the size and speed to win. The Breds better be ready to play. I might have to bundle up and head down to this one. Maybe I will cuddle up next to Mrs Lawnboy to stay warm !!

That is the very valid counter argument. It will be interesting to see what they decide if they are really even thinking about it

Pretty sure NCC beat Newport at Newport already this yr. not taking anything away from the Wildcats but IMO NCC is better and should win this next meeting as well.

I can think of $1800 reasons for the move.

Last week Holmes gave their field to NewCath for zero rent, if they could keep the concessions. That's what I was told.

Mrs. Lawnboy doesn't go to football games when the temp gets below 70, so you better bring an extra blanket for yourself.

When was the last time the city of Newport had something this big to look forward to? IMO a change kills some of the mood for this game. City rivals playing outside of the city they are located. But I guess it's all about money, not the game. :idunno:

I agree with this post well said. I think it will be a great game I will go with Ncc 24 Newport 21. Good Luck to both teams.
