My parent's raised my brother's and I to respect law enforcement, elders, and authority in general. If a cop asks me to stop, there is zero hesitation. I stop. I may be nervous. I might panic a little. But that doesn't cause me to continue driving/defy their orders.

 

My parent's also instilled in me that drugs aren't okay. I don't care if it's "just pot" it's still a drug and it's not okay. Drinking underage is not okay. Doesn't matter that "everyone" does it at that age and kids will be kids. It's still illegal. Once we stop making excuses for young people and bailing them out/failing to hold them accountable the world will be a slightly better place.

 

I am VERY tired of seeing Tyler's name dragged through mud, spit on, and character assasinated by labeling him a murderer, child killer, aggro cop, etc. He isn't any of those. Esp. if you've met him. He will live with this for the rest of his life, but in that situation, if you're an officer and you were faced with feeling you were in danger and it was you or her....it's you, every single time.

No doubt. Tyler is a good dude. Not some "testosterone driven cop", very intelligent and just an all around good person.

Samantha Ramsey is dead because both she, age 19, and Officer Brockman, age 25, made the decisions they did that fateful night. Frankly, we need to continue to ask tough questions as to what happened that night and in the criminal investigation that ended with the grand jury's decision. I just don't need a 24 year old Deputy with a half of can of Copenhagen in his mouth asking me to do a breathalyzer (0.0) because of the vehicle I'm driving and it's 2 hours after a Bengals game. There was no citation and the Lieutenant who showed last apologized for the incident.

 

I'm not here to bash the Police. My mentor growing up is a retired Boone County Deputy and ex Navy Seal. I have no figures or comparisons to other counties in the Commonwealth to the number of Boone Deputies, but when I get off the Mt Zion exit on a Saturday to pick up Larosa's, there shouldn't be 7 squad cars in 300 yard radius.

Well it's the exaggeration that you used that rubbed many of us the wrong way and you are still doing it. What someone with dip in their mouth has to do with anything I have no idea, you also apparently aren't pulled over every time you come into Boone County and your exaggeration about 7 squad cars in a 300 yard radius is also extremely exaggerated unless they were there on a response. You see I know for a fact that 7 cruisers would be the entire shift and that would also mean that they all were not in their districts. So maybe it was because you had a bad experience one time yet you have made that one bad experience into labeling Boone County a communist state when you compare it to the Nazi led Germany. The entire profiling thing is also wrong and you know it, if anything you are the one profiling the Boone County Sheriff Dept.

 

Hopefully you instilled good common sense with your daughter and taught her to respect authority figures, although with the way you are ripping the sheriff dept. I would highly doubt you've done that with her.

You haven't watched the local news after the incident then. Plenty of interviews calling him a murderer etc. Plenty of demonstrations at her memorial services etc. He was made out to be a trigger happy murderer.

What question do you think wasn't addressed? We (BGP) brought up 100's of questions, I'm sure the actual trained investigators asked our amateur questions plus many many more.

What does the Deputy being 24, or having a dip have to do with anything? If he ASKED you to take a breath test, you could have refused right?

 

It is funny when people bash police (you compared the U.S. to Nazi Germany because of our police), then claim they aren't bashing police because they know someone who used to be a police officer :lol2:.

 

The police are not out there killing innocent 19 year old girls for no reason. You shouldn't stress about your 19 year old being killed by police.

And he is a victim. Of victim of her poor decisions that night. He's a victim because all her "friends" and I put it in quotations cause some of then bailed on her but then called him a murderer all over the news many times over. He's a victim because he and his family got death threats. He's a victim because some idiot posted his address online encouraging retaliation. And he's a victim, cause he's got to live with this forever cause of her poor decisions.

What is alarming to me is the fact that the Grand Jury was allowed to be presented with a character asassination of the teen by the DA prior to making a decision to not indict. Lori Wells, an attorney who has a show on 700 WLW made a statement about how this was completely wrong. She also stated the cop could have also been charged with endangerment regarding the other individuals in the car.

 

This obviously is a tragedy, a combination of a girl who was legally drunk making a poor decision to not stop and a cop who used poor judgment in putting himself in harms way by leaping on the hood. I guess the only thing for him to do after he made that decision abd was on the hood of the moving car was to unload his clip in her. Which he did by the way. How no other people were shot is a miracle.

 

Maybe I missed it but how does this attorney know what was presented to the grand jury? It's always been my understanding that the records are sealed.

She put more lives in danger than the officer did. She got behind the wheel with a car full of passengers and she clearly was not capable of making sound judgement etc. because of the state she was in. She put everyone in that vehicle and everyone waling on the road and driving on that road at that time in danger. Yet you have the gall to say this about the officer? Wow.
