I agree, but we can't ask her why she did what she did which resulted in putting others lives at risk. It sounds like the marijuana and alcohol may have had something to do with her poor judgement though.

You don't even spend a day in jail for a first time DUI of a non aggrevated traffic stop. Crazy.

 

Usually just a few hours at best.

1. Cops put themselves in harms way all the time. It's part of the job

2. He did not unload his "clip". It was 4-5 rounds from what I've read. The weapon holds 16 rounds.

3. I don't care what that attorney said on AM radio, it was all fair for the publics opinion of the deputy to be tainted and lies to be spewed as facts from her friends. So excuse me if I don't see an issue with character witness'.

 

Don't forget the death threats he and his family received.

What is alarming to me is the fact that the Grand Jury was allowed to be presented with a character asassination of the teen by the DA prior to making a decision to not indict. Lori Wells, an attorney who has a show on 700 WLW made a statement about how this was completely wrong.

This obviously is a tragedy, a combination of a girl who was legally drunk making a poor decision to not stop and a cop who used poor judgment in putting himself in harms way by leaping on the hood.

I guess the only thing for him to do after he made that decision abd was on the hood of the moving car was to unload his clip in her. Which he did by the way. How no other people were shot is a miracle.

1.) You don't know that he jumped on the car. 2.) He didn't unload his "clip" (it's called a magazine). 3.) She put the other people in the car in danger when she a.) drove drunk/high & b.) ran from and then into a police officer.

Can you explain what was said in the 'Character assassination"? If the assassination included the FACTS that she was high and drunk, then that is not a character assassination.

And the fact she was already on probation for a DUI. I don't care actually at all that we neer got to hear her excuse for trying to flee. She did it and she paid the ultimate price for it, excuse me if I don't feel bad about it. anyone who is as irresponsible when it comes to other peoples lives by putting them at risk because of your stupidity, well I'm sorry, but I don't feel for her. Also when posts are talking about her character assasination, what in the heck do they think the media and everyone on social media did to the deputy when it came to character assassination? Sorry, but he got it a lot worse than she did when it comes to character assasination.

 

I'd say after the incident it was a good 80%+ horrible posts made about the cop on social media than her. Actually they tried to make her out to be some kind of saint.

 

So, I'm sorry if people feel bad about my feelings on this, but I don't feel sorry for her because she was the one that put herself in this position by endangering everyone in that vehicle and everyone walking on that road that night. Being stupid is no excuse and she was stupid.

She put more lives in danger than the officer did. She got behind the wheel with a car full of passengers and she clearly was not capable of making sound judgement etc. because of the state she was in. She put everyone in that vehicle and everyone waling on the road and driving on that road at that time in danger. Yet you have the gall to say this about the officer? Wow.

The people in the car chose to get into the car.

The people walking on the side of the road on a poorly lit road didn't choose to ride with her. The people driving on that road didn't choose to drive on the road with a highly intoxicated girl driving on the road at the same time.

 

She put a lot more lives in danger than the officer. The officer did what he felt he had to do to not only save his own life but others also.

But no one knows if that would have happened and brings in "What if".

As does the same thing UK#1fan was saying also....he said the officer could have shot the passengers by mistake (WHICH DIDNT HAPPEN) yet we can't say what may have happened if he didn't stop her? ok lol, that makes sense.

I just don't need a 24 year old Deputy with a half of can of Copenhagen in his mouth asking me to do a breathalyzer (0.0) because of the vehicle I'm driving and it's 2 hours after a Bengals game. There was no citation and the Lieutenant who showed last apologized for the incident.

 

I'm not here to bash the Police. My mentor growing up is a retired Boone County Deputy and ex Navy Seal. I have no figures or comparisons to other counties in the Commonwealth to the number of Boone Deputies, but when I get off the Mt Zion exit on a Saturday to pick up Larosa's, there shouldn't be 7 squad cars in 300 yard radius.

 

I have a 19 old daughter, what happened here scares me. Beechwoodfan's had a great post on this subject.

There had to be a reason the cop asked you to do a breathalyzer. Were you swerving? Did your truck smell like alcohol? And typically you do field sobriety tests first. Many unanswered questions from your posts. And a 4x4 truck in Boone County is more common that not so I fail to see where profiling took place.

I still don't follow what that type of vehicle has to do with anything?

Does your daughter drink/smoke pot/try to run over police officers? If not I wouldn't be overly concerned.
