For my Police Officer Friends...

At what point of your training do they take away your personality and teach you to be condescending jerks??? I can see during arrests, detainments, questioning of smart alleck people giving it right back. It is a stressful job and situation.

That being said, when a person enters a department to pay a parking ticket, it isn't exactly a stressful setting. Is it that difficult to make eye contact and not talk down to someone? Today was like dealing with a customer service rep. I looked over at the guy and just wondered exactly when he saved the world, or cured cancer, or made time travel possible. Those are the only achievements that I could think of that would give a person that much of a sense of entitlement.

There's an attorney joke in there somewhere.

Same can be said of most of the Baristas at Starbucks, the people at the return desk at Walmart, any attorney that your not paying and 85% of the bosses I had during my career...:lol2:

But he's a Cop so he should act better, after all were paying his salary!

Heck that happens everywhere. You have people like that in grocery stores, department stores, utility companies, physician offices, emergency rooms, schools.

And we pay the salary of all the other people you mentioned with the exception of the attorney.

Don't get me started on Law Professors, easily the most out of touch collection of Academics going. I have a couple that I really liked and respected. The others were some of the most socially awkward people that I've ever been around.

The person working behind the desk was a sworn officer not a clerk?

If it were a clerk, I imagine that person gets griped at all time and I could see burn out coming over them and developing a crusty persona at work.

Officer. He wasn't the person that would have been working at the window. That person was elsewhere. He was just in the background.

Dude, try dental school.

When does a person decide to become an accountant?

When he realizes that he doesn't have the charisma to be an undertaker.

That one will go over like a fart in church with some of this crowd.

Was he under 5'8"? seems to come with the territory.

Some of the Dental School cats that I ran across at UofL were SUPER weird. Really good at intramural sports though. :lol2:
