I would take Lorenzen if I were a Highlands fan, and that's not to take away from Hoge, but Lorenzen completely dominated the high school game. NO way any team could stop him in 4A this year.

 

Also @ HHS - what about Hamblen, Grover or Rob Smith? Smith was a monster lineman. I recall a video of him blocking Michael Bush and it was ownage.

 

Like I said, this is a tough one for HHS fans - a lot of good players to pick from. All three of the guys you mentioned were complete studs - Guidugli, Towles, Frisk...three more...and these are just guys in the last 20 years. I am sure some of our older HHS fans will bring up some other great ones as well...

I think he was in camp with the Rams too. Had the talent to play in the NFL but I wonder if all the time playing hoops could have been better spent developing his football skill set.

I agree guru, except that Owensboro has always been a run-based team, and the QB we have is pretty solid at passing & running - not sure who I would change him with. So maybe Highlands is more of a Rob Smith, Grover type pick.

I completely forgot about Joe Prince's kid at QB - he had the stature, speed and arm...definitely the better of the QB's, but there's not enough of a difference between our current QB for me to not take Miller and Higgs at Owensboro.
