October 24, 201411 yr Can I just say playing the Ravens again, this early, is just plain stupid scheduling by the NFL? I mean, we're going to play two division games against the same opponent, before we play even one against the other two in the division?!? I know they want some excitement at the end of the year by playing within your division. I get that. But, 4 out of the last 8 games will be against the Browns/Steelers, to finish the year...is just dumb. I can't believe there was no way to flip this Ravens game with the first Steelers game, and spread everything out better.

October 24, 201411 yr Scheduling is very odd this year. Three of the browns first five games were divsion games. Steelers twice and Ravens once.
October 24, 201411 yr Just to show how big home field advantage is in the NFL, especially in division games.... The 1-6 Jets started as -2 at home against 4-3 Buffalo....it is now NYJ -3 The 2-4 Saints started are -1.5 at home against 5-2 Green Bay....it is still NO -1.5 I heard that a betting firm could find no other game in the last 25 years where a 1-6 Home team was the favorite over a team with a winning record.

However if him having another week off gets him healthy, then they will be fine. After this game they have the Jags and Browns at home. Then by the time they go on the road again they should have Eifert back too. Even though the schedule is tough, we have to get out of our old thinking of well they play a tough team that means its a loss. When teams see the Bengals on the schedule these days, they also think it is a tough game for their team. So yes the road will be hard if they lose, but by no means does that put the nail in the coffin. People did that with 2011 season before the season started, and then 2012 mid season too. The big picture is forgotten way to early for people when things don't go well for the Bengals.

You have to admit, a 5.5 point swing on an NFL game is rare. I think it will still swing back a little today. I'm just saying that from a handicapping stand point, the Bengals are the play--Bengals at home, home team on 19-5 run in Bengal games, etc. But, sometimes they set a bad line. Like I said, we'll find out today. I'm not touching it but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Cincinnati wins.
October 27, 201411 yr ..... Final line Bengals +2.5. Which was an absolute gift from the odds makers. So were the Saints. Seems like I should have won a lot more money than I did yesterday.
