Should the Bengals be favored over the Ravens?

Featured Replies

Looks like the Bengals are about a 2.5 favorite over Baltimore.

All things considered, is that the "right" line?

Is AJ playing?

Playing at home where they have not lost in two years vs a team they beat on the road in week one. I'd say yes the -2.5 line is fair. Cincinnati is currently the 2nd wild card team, a win over BAL and they will be back in first in the division.

I am sure the Kitten will need lots of grooming and love but who knows...

Early line, yes, 2.5 is right. But this will change once the injury reports come out. There is NO WAY the Bengals go in as favorites if all three starting LB's, a starting CB and one of the start DL is out . I don't care if AJ, Eifert and Jesus are eligible on offense, there is not way they are favorites of half the Defense is in street clothes, and the fill-ins should be in street clothes!

IF not, they'll lose. I don't think defensive personnel will matter if he's not out there.

The Ravens have won 5 of 6 including 4 blowouts.

Three underachieving weeks in a row for the Bengals is starting to look like a trend rather than an aberration.

If I could get a legal bet down, I would take the points and push a large stack in for the Ravens.

With all the injuries and as hot as the Ravens seem to be, it's tough to see the Bengals getting a win here.

thats why the lights never go off in Vegas !

I have zero faith that Flacco is worth much. I can surely see him tanking one.

Throwing the first Bengals/Ravens game out don't you agree the Ravens are hot and the Bengals are...

.....

Key to the first game was the Ravens were one-dimensional, the Bengals stuffed their run game from jump and made Joey Eye Brows chuck it 128,348 times (or so it seemed). This time, the Ravens have developed a little running game and the Bengals can't stop Plantman from gaining 5 yards per carry. A two-dimensional Ravens offense will score 24+, and I just can't foresee this Bengals' offense getting to that level on this Ravens' defense.

Ergo, I think the line will ultimately move to get folks to take the Bengals at some level.

I do, but there is something about Flacco I just don't trust. I also think the Bengals are better at defending the deep 1/3 where the Ravens can hurt you. But I still say that offensively without AJ, they are toast. The Rifle was 18 for 156 yesterday. He tossed up those floating sideline ballons, Sanu caught one. AJ catches most. It's amazing how much he relies on it. 3 step drop, pressure, heave.

What would the line have to be for you to take the Bengals?

It would have to be 8 for me. Of course I don't gamble but this scares me.

On a side note, I think this is a pride game for the Bengals and that is bad news for the Ravens.

I'd heavily consider Cincy getting 3.5. It wouldn't get close, but if it got to Bengals +7 I'd be all-in. I will be shocked if it isn't a pick-em by week's end.
