Everyone laugh at Joker. Everyone make fun of Joker for saying he thought Cordia had a chance of playing next season. Everyone call Joker crazy for telling everyone they shouldn't be so quick to dismiss Cordia's appeal as a formality. Go ahead, laugh now.

 

I'm not saying that their appeal will be a complete success on all counts, or that there won't be some penalties, but given that Rhodes and the kids are still there, it's been 3 months since the initial penalties were announced and there's still been no resolution of their appeal by the Board of Control, do I look so crazy for saying that this wouldn't be rubber stamped? Think about it, if this were the slam dunk people were acting like it was, don't you think we'd have had a quick and swift resolution that'd been made public?

 

^^^^Absolutely. There sure were some sweeping punishments handed down. So where's the follow through? Must not be the slam dunk they made it out to be.

 

And does the board still hear appeals these days?

Guys I can tell you it is far from a slam dunk. This whole investigation the khsaa has put together is a joke and if people don't stand up and fight them you have no recourse. I heave read just about every document involving this case and it is full of holes. On the surface it looks like the worst violations since the Chicago black sox. Here is one example: coach Larry Williams moved Chris Hudson from Texas to Kentucky at no cost to him or his family. What is conviently omitted is that at the time Larry Williams moved he was not a coach, he was not affiliated with the school in any way just a parent. He also came here with his 2 sons that was not mentioned and he was the legal court appointed guardian of Chris. All of these facts were not mentioned in their findings. This is just one example there are many more like this. All of the cordia kids are still there and yes so is rod Rhodes. I have heard all of these kids say if they don't play at cordia this year they won't play at all they like it there and do not plan to leave. Numerous schools have attempted to recruit them away with all sorts of promises but they are content where they are. Tuesday is going to be interesting they may not win but they will take it as far as possible.

If this really was "the most wanton and blatant disregard for association rules in the KHSAA's 97-year history" I want to know why it isn't a slam dunk???

 

Has the public been mislead? You sure would think that they'd have them in the electric chair already, not dragging this out into November or even longer.

Does Rhodes work there still in addition to coaching?

Not really. Is Cordia the only case the KHSAA has going on? I'd at least wait until the appeal is overturned and they are allowed to play this season before you break your arm patting yourself on the back.

"Cordia is doing nothing good for their program by this possible lawsuit. They are making themselves look even worse and acting like a spoiled rotten kid who got their lollipop taken away.

 

What an embarrassment they are and to be seriously thinking about suing makes them even worse and dumber than I originally though they were. It actually comes across as being very arrogant to think that they truly believe what they did was alright. I wish even more now that they would have been given the death sentence."

 

I remember this reply to me getting a lot of likes.

"If the KHSAA gets info from somebody (in this case, Hudson's guardian), looks into it and determines it's TRUE, then Cordia does NOT get the benefit of putting its accusers/whistleblowers on the stand.

 

Since the KHSAA does its OWN due diligence before handing down punishments, about the only person Cordia will be able to call to the stand is ... the KHSAA.

 

You're trying to imply/infer Hudson's guardian MUST take the stand (and therefore get Hazard in trouble, too). I'm saying it won't happen.

 

KHSAA has plenty on Cordia without Hudson's guardian being involved.

 

If Hudson's guardian had THAT much info on Cordia that was TRUE (true enough to get 14 sanctions leveled against Cordia), than it is CORDIA'S own fault someone who was no longer connected to the school had that type of dirt on them.

 

If you let someone into your mafia and the new mafia member turns around and rats you out, you do NOT blame the new mafia member. The Godfather (Rhodes/Whitaker) should've had the new mafia member (Hudson's guardian) sleepin' with the fishies if they were worried it would be this big of a problem.

 

Apparently they weren't.

Or maybe Hudson's guardian is lyin'. Maybe, but I doubt the KHSAA would level 14 sanctions based on a bunch of lies and ZERO FACT CHECKING of its own.

 

KHSAA is smarter than that, dude.

Just that the defenses I'd alluded to them having might not be such a joke. If it were, this whole thing would have been resolved long, long ago.

 

Let's be real, if the hammer gets dropped on Cordia but the transfers at a place like Scott County are eligible, then how is that going to look if Cordia fights it in Court? They've already beaten the KHSAA in Court twice. Like spindoc said, no ruling by a Judge on the KHSAA would be surprising.

 

How many other schools do you think are nervous if Cordia really gets the hammer dropped on them. It's not just about Cordia, and it never has been.
