October 10, 201411 yr And the majority of them shouldn't be considered QBs. Doesn't matter. They are all getting paid very well to play the position whether you think they should be considered quarterbacks or not.

October 10, 201411 yr If Michigan actually makes an offer it would be hard to turn down. Just like in basketball where UK generally gets who they want. Michigan is at that same level in football. As for it being too much for a 2nd year head coach, well you can always go back at get a job at a conference cellar dweller like Kentucky--you don't often get a chance to take over a Michigan, OSU, Alabama, Notre Dame etc. When you get one you take it. If it doesn't work out Vandy, UK or Wake Forest come open pretty often. That being said I can't see him being their number one target, just one on a list.
October 10, 201411 yr I think David is arrogant and very average as an Administrator, but them firing him would require MELONS of which I don't think the school has. They would be more likely to try and put him into Development with no change in pay, but firing him would be really hard for me to fathom. I'm not for one second suggesting I don't think Hoke will be fired, I'm suggesting his list isn't being shared with anyone. I could see that as well. More than anything, it's just that he's not going to be the AD with AD powers at this time next season. Maybe he keeps a job, but he would still be neutered when it came to the powers that came with it.
October 10, 201411 yr Oklahoma was in a similar situation as Michigan when they hired brother Bob. Several years of subpar seasons and a coaching carousel. That turned out ok for them. On the flip side, Arizona flamed out when they hired brother Mike. That being said Mark is not his brothers and who knows how he would do in a setting like Michigan. I would like to see him stay and establish the program as a consistent bowl team.

October 11, 201411 yr If your Michigan, how high is Stoops actually on your list. I think he may be on the list...but not near the top. I'd make a run at Dan Mullen if I'm UM before calling Stoops...Hugh Freeze, Bobby Petrino...just a lot of coaches that have already done what Stoops is trying to do.

I know Ole Miss hasn't had the recent success. But I find it very unlikely you get Hugh Freeze to Michigan. Ole Miss fan base is just as large and crazy. Ole Miss has better in state talent to recruit and Ole Miss has plenty of money with the new SEC network. Ole Miss has plenty of football tradition as well. Michigan is a better job than Kentucky. But there are probably about 8 SEC jobs that I think are better or on par to Michigan in today's college football landscape.

October 11, 201411 yr Can any coach fix Michigan? Ann Arbor and the surrounding area are nice - between April and October. The closest major city has areas of desolate waste 'burbs. If Stoops hunting ground will still be Ohio its easier to draw them south that north. Also, with the East of the SEC in turmoil creating opportunity its hard to see Stoops jumping on the job.
