All In Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Good not great, 15-20 minutes too long. Absurd, but definetly keeps you watching. Rosemund Pike should be on the actress radar after this film, she saves the film. Affleck is Affleck, liked him in The Town, but man I feel sorry for the Batman franchise
lawildcat Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I'm not a huge Affleck fan but I'm going to try to go see this anyway. It look interesting.

Pura Vida Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I thought the book was good, not great. Will probably wait to see it on cable. I’m with you on waiting til it comes to dvd. I felt gypped after I read the book. It kept me entertained until the last page but I hated the ending!

I liked him in The Town also and also liked him in Argo, but Argo he was playing the same character he always plays. My wife wants to see this movie bad, I want to see The Song. If anyone seen both, give me which one is more worth the 2 hours of my life.

hrcarrier Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I was somewhat interested to see it in the cinema; will likely wait for cable, Redbox, etc. to watch this one.
The Professor Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I saw it yesterday. Very good movie, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Rosemund Pike receive an Oscar nomination for her effort. I hadn't heard of her before this movie but she is very good. She's a British actress but I didn't know that until I Googled her name after watching the film. She had the American English accent mastered for this role. I enjoyed the movie and although it's long, about 2 hours and twenty minutes, it doesn't seem that long. However, I hated the way it ended. Very deflating for me. Most the people I spoke with as we were leaving the movie said they had read the book and already knew the details and that the film pretty much was right on target with the book. So, they already knew the ending. But that part was the main negative of the movie for me.
Randy Parker Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I thought it was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Agree with Prof on Rosemund Pike's performance. She pulls off psychotic woman pretty well.
hidinout Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I concur with the above , good flick , not great but entertaining . Ending was too far fetched . Blond actress was very good . Kinda liked the young lady affleck had the affair with , what great acting
Randy Parker Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 While I like Tyler Perry, I thought he was an awful choice for the lawyer. And Doogie Howser was a poor casting choice too IMO. The lady playing Affleck's sister was good, as was the lead female detective. And I thought Affleck did pretty well too.

Went in with high expectations and was let down. Movie was OK but not great. Some of the plot was just not believable IMO.
Irish Cat Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Overall I really liked the movie, but agree that the ending left me disappointed. The chick that played Andi, deserves an academy award or something. She nailed her role and did exactly what she was cast to do.
UKFan10 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 The actress who played Andie is also the girl from the Blurred Lines music video
