We are talking about a woman who lives off the government and wants more money from the government to become skinny and healthy . Ft. Thomas asked for zero government assistance to give their students healthy meals.

Correction: those kids that didn't resort to packing their lunches were getting served "healthy lunches" and depositing the extremely small portions directly in the trash can.

According to an Enquirer story, it's costing Ft. Thomas schools $260,000 to $270,000 more a year to opt out of the 2010 healthy lunch act. If I were a taxpayer there, I'd be asking a qualified dietitian for a second opinion. We're talking serious money. Highlands could hire another assistant coach with NFL experience for $260,000. (Just kidding.)

Highlands opting out of the program gave up $250k of federal aide. They think they can recoup much of it back by kids actually buying lunches. Highlands employs a dietician for their cafeteria. Coincidentally, I received this link explaining their lunch program today.
