Is adding calories "doing better"? I also think there's a political element to this decision in heavily Republican Ft. Thomas, but I might be wrong about that. After re-reading the Enquirer article, the superintendent appeared to leave the door open to returning to the federal lunch program in 2015. Seriously, $260,000 is more than pocket change.

If you want to argue the pros/cons of opting out of the U.S. federal lunch program, you should start a thread on it. This thread is about how an obese woman in England is abusing their government assistance program and not taking personal responsibility for being overweight. Not sure why you keep bringing Ft. Thomas, KY USA into the conversation.

One thing that seems to have been missed in all of this is the fact that this lady receives over $60,000/year from the government. Fat, skinny, tall, short, whatever...that is freaking insane.

Actually, it's very relevant. Ft. Thomas schools' calories-be-darned school lunch policy ties in quite nicely with the thread topic. In both cases, taxpayer dollars are being used to support caloric overload. My under-fire tactic is nothing more than localizing from the general -- hardly moving the discussion in an undesired direction.

Exactly! There was a women being interviewed on the radio. I don't know her physical size, but it really doesn't matter. She was asked "Do you work? The lady said "I don't need to." Then she was asked to explain her answer, she said "I get everything paid for me by the government" That includes my housing, heat, water, trash collection, food, medical and dental care and everything else I need." She was asked if she had children. She said "yes I have three kids." She was asked if the children would find work when they became of age. She said " they won't have to work because they will do the same thing that I am doing." :irked:

It's highly relevant. People are simply uneasy because I have criticized Ft. Thomas schools' quarter-million-dollar more-calorie lunch policy. (Where are the tea party fiscal conservatives in this one? Ha ha.)

 

By the way, I view all these "stay-on-topic" calls as simply attempts to silence or censor. It's like setting up a thread on the Bengals and telling posters they can't talk about the Ravens or Steelers.
