I voted that it isn't ideal as he will likely be raked over the coals for it. He should have moved the latte to his left hand and properly saluted. However, it's not as big of a deal as it will be portrayed to be.

I dsiagree. It is very disrespectful and it doesn't matter if it was Obama or Reagan imo.

Anyone who has served in the military knows what the meaning behind the salute is and to salute the way the Pres did is very disrespectful imo.

The Latte salute has had its 15-minutes of fame...

Obama is known for being sloppy in behavior when not reading from a teleprompter. He puts his feet up on the Resolute desk, he gives people the bird accidentally when he has hand to his head or scratches his nose sometimes.

He didn't spit on the Marines. In fact, he still acknowledged them - poorly. Unfortunately that was worse than ignoring them to be focused on who ever he was meeting on the ground. As some have posted - its not required of seniors to return salutes. A leader who does not acknowledge the Marines and quickly steps by them to meet who ever is on the ground to get on to the next order of America's business in a very strong leadership style would have caused less controversy.

I think Obama is tired of being on the stage all the time at this point. He has let his game-face go somewhat and the Clinton old-timers are all gone with Hillary. That leaves 20 and 30 somethings in charge of the administration - and they do not know the ropes.

I didn't read all 8 pages. I'm not taking about you, so hush my republican friend :)

It's for those who want to search for anything and everything in hopes to bash Obama. I know you are above that. :)

As if that humorless clown's opinion matters. Talk about false patriotism!

Actually he pointed out how contradictory Eric Boling from Fox News was by screaming about how Obama isn't showing the military the proper respect and then Boling turns around and makes a sexist remark regarding the woman who dropped bombs on ISIS.

Then Hannity tried to say that Bush would never do that and then Stewart showed the same picture of Bush that we have on here.

That's all. Good try though. :thumb:

Fwiw it appears to me President Bush is trying to do a proper salute. His right hand is empty whereas President Obama never attempted to take the coffee cup out of his hand and just saluted with it.

Also I don't really care that either did it and I dont think either meant to be disrespectful.

If it isn't bushs fault it's " he did it too " . Old and tired .

I agree. However, if you're going to say that "Bush would never do that" like Hannity said then be correct when you say it. Hannity brought Bush into the conversation.
