Congratulations to the Camels; figured this was going to be a fairly close game either way.

It was a very good game. The defenses for both teams played well. Camels started running the ball with relative ease after Keller (linebacker) and Jackson (right corner back) came out of the game with injuries. Not to take anything away from the Camels. They saw the weakness and exploited it. Cooper's pass defense was good throughout the game. The Cooper offense didn't perform tonight. We couldn't get the running game going. Kudos to the Camel D line. Our passing game wasn't much better. Still, Cooper in my opinion is a good 5A team. No shame in tonight's game for Cooper. They played hard till the very end and until the Camels pushed across a TD toward the end of the 4th quarter this game was very much either team's to win.

Good observation, but the right cornerback had nothing to do with the runs up the gut. Ball control was won by CC with the mobile QB that kept the Cooper defense on their heels in the 4th.

Cooper contained the QB the first half, with Keller in at MLB. He had about 10 tackles, a pick and a fumble recovery (fumble by the QB, btw) and he didn't even play the 3rd or 4th qtr. Camels QB had great feet, no passing ability at all. Cooper's offense was lackluster to say the least, they were given great field position time and time again by Cooper's D and couldn't punch it in. Great penetration by the Camels D though. They were quick to the ball.

 

Campbell County will have no trouble with Ryle, will probably beat Dixie and may challenge SK. They might be the team to beat next year, depending on who graduates off that O-line and defense.

I decided to attend the Newport vs Scott game, however I hate when I see post like this because what is the point in saying it? On those 5 turnovers did Campbell County players fumble while running all alone and without being touched? Or what if the turnovers were interceptions, did the other teams defense throw them to themselves? Majority of times turnovers are forced, so what is the point in saying it? If Campbell did have 5 turnovers, then I am sure Cooper people could say well if they capitalized on those turnovers then the game could have gotten out of hand in Coopers favor. Or you can say well if CC didn't play defense so well then this game could have gotten out of hand with Cooper winning, etc.

 

You can make arguments probably for both that says the game could have gotten out of hand. Or simply say what it sounds like to me and that is it was two pretty even teams and Campbell was the one that came out on top while playing at home by playing a little better overall.

Congratulations to the Camels on the win.....A missed field goal, and 5 turn overs for the Camels was the difference in the game. Camels turned the ball over 3 times inside the 20, but Cooper fails to score on all 3 of those opportunities. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the Camels only punted once all night. Defense was tight for both teams, but the Camels pretty much stuffed the Jaguars all night, except for the one 26 yd touchdown run.

Do the Camels deserve to be in the 6a Top 10? What about Cooper in 5a?

The Keller boy(man) was literally on every tackle, smallest man on the field(other than #48 of Copper, which played well also:), was a monster until he got hurt, hopefully he recovers quickly, they will need him.

Both are Kellers. Hoping it's nothing major, was a very close game until the end. Think it proves to a lot of people (doubters) that Cooper is good not just playing bad teams.

Were answered especially seeing how they were without 2 of their best defenseman the entire game and lost another great defenseman in the first half.
