Ok, so why do you care what UK fans want?m

 

Because I'm a football fan, and it would be nice if UK — since I live in Kentucky and converse with Kentucky fans dozens of times a day about UK sports — was halfways interesting to watch.

I've been offering suggestions for UK to improve its lot in football. You guys just don't want to hear it because you're satisfied with where UK is in football.

 

Most schools aren't great at every sport. Not sure why you think this unique to UK.

 

There's no rule that says it has to be such an extreme difference. UK is racking up millions of dollars every year riding the coattails of their football-competent brethren in the SEC. Maybe if they actually invested in the program you guys might have something tangible to cheer about instead of getting worked up over beating up on a JV team and getting a false sense of security about the growth of the program, only to see it all come crashing down in two weeks.

You brought in UL, when you plugged the article with 'ol Howard.

 

Howard's comments to Mark Story came from the standpoint of a UK alum who would love to see his alma mater matter. So no, I did not bring UofL into this. Rocket did.

I don't think fans are satisfied, they just don't loose their minds over it. But there was a lot of "Fire Joker" talk every where in the fan base, on-line and on the radio before he was fired. So they weren't accepting what was going on under him.

 

UK isn't going to recruit with LSU or Alabama right now just like Ohio St and Michigan aren't going to recruit with UK Basketball.

 

Tennessee spends over $2.5Million recruiting and are near the top every year in that regard, how have things been on Rocky Top for the last decade?

That's a myth. Stoops and company can get as much money as they want/need to recruit.

:lol2: give it a rest Jim. No one who's been on this site longer than a week is buying that you want to see UK improve. In fact you're ignoring all the positives in this thread and continue to beat a dead horse and keep saying the same tired rhetoric that was applicable pre-Rich Brooks. In fact Barnhart canned Joker after his brief and utter disappointing tenure. He brought in the best coach that would come to UK and he's doing great things. He's out recruiting every coach at UK in the last 40 years combined. You don't care about their success. They're clearly on the upswing and you still keep spewing that tired ole nonsense that doesn't apply at this time.

Is recruiting budget the be all end all? If so UT would be the best team in the country year in and year out.

 

UK's recruiting budget is about twice what is was under Joker. Hopefully it will continue to grow.

I always get a kick out the UL fans beating their chests in these threads. Haven't heard "elite" yet. I know its coming lol

And they should have stopped scheduling those type of games five schedule cycles ago. It's not working this way.

How much is UK football's recruiting budget? And how much to they spend on a basketball practice? I'm not saying what you claim is false, I would just like to see the actual numbers and a source to back up what your claiming.

Agreed, in recent years Kentucky looked awful in these type of games. I'm all for scheduling someone better than UT-Martin in the future, but this wasn't the year to do that. I'm also not talking about scheduling an Ohio State or someone like that either, that just wouldn't be logical. I would be happy with a Marshall or Cincinnatti for now, if they would be willing to play at UK. That would be the only way it would work IMO, UK is not going to give up a home game every other year, nor should they.
