Rank The Top 10 Teams In The 8th, 9th & 10th

Featured Replies

I don't know the 8th well enough to put a top 10 list together, but Campbell is the only sure thing for the 10th IMO. Harrison would be on there, but with the departure of Jenkins, I just don't see it now.

Same here. I believe that Mason and GRC will challenge Campbell for the title.

I believe when talking 8th, Oldham would be in the mix. South won the region last year but they graduated quite a few as did a lot of the top teams in the region.

Oldham would be the only team I would put for sure in this top 10 from the 8th. Shelby, Collins, Owen, Grant, SK, South Oldham, and Anderson will also be in the mix, as this region has been pretty balanced most years..

SK returns a lot of good players. Racke and Hawkins both Sophomores can light it up.

I'll be really surprised if Racke plays this year with his achievements in football but he is a competitor and while I hope for the best it will take some time before Hawkins is back to full strength with tearing his ACL at the end of the summer AAU season.

Scratching my head why Cooper is not in this Top 10 but I firmly believe they will surprise some people this season. They have all of the pieces to make a run at their district and could be a dark horse for the region. But the leaders of course will be NCC, CCH and Holmes.

This thread is for the 8th, 9th, and 10th. Not sure if that would change your assessment but I agree, Cooper is not far behind the top 3 in the 9th.

I didn't know Hawkins injured his ACL. That only gives him nine months to recover so this year is likely a wash. That's a shame.

I wish.

I can't see Campbell losing to anyone in the 10th this year. Stranger things have happened, though.

I totally agree about Cooper... not so sure about CCH and Holmes being better than Dixie this year. Maybe CCH is better than Dixie because of coaching, but Dixie played Holmes to a draw this summer with half their team there. I'm telling you, Holmes will be down significantly this year.

I wish.

Look at last year. Don't believe many if any picked Campbell to win the 10th.

I think I was the only one :)

To be fair AFI, you have picked Camp Co to win the 10th every year.:ylsuper:

Campbell is clearly the top team in the 10th, but they aren't the elite team that the 10th region has typically had in the last 10 or so years. Many years the best team was a top 5 team in the state. I'm not sold Campbell is a top 25 team.

All that is to say, while Campbell should be a strong favorite, I wouldn't be surprised if one of 4-5 teams were to beat them when it counts.
