Rank The Top 10 Teams In The 8th, 9th & 10th

Featured Replies

I don't know how someone can rank Walton Verona over many teams on this list. Nothing against the school or the program, I know many people from there, but their athletics have plummeted the past 3 or 4 years. As for Campbell County, I think they are one of the best teams in the area with Cov Cath and Holmes. Should be a fun year and I am ready to see some action on the court.

Agree with this. I look for the big kid (think he's a junior, name escapes me), Jackson and McGoveny (sp?) to have great seasons. Now that the three of them have some experience I could see CC getting out of region again. I think mostly everybody has bought into Coach Russell's system.

Campbell will be good and I REALLY like Wilson and Jackson but I think they are still a step below Holmes, Newcath, and Covcath.

Time will tell. Camels play Newcath on 12/13 and Covcath on 12/17.

I wish the Camels still played Holmes each year.

They played twice over the summer with Holmes winning both...last second shot and then by 20+ at CC.

Can't go by summer alone though. Grant county beat Holmes in June. SK didn't have an impressive summer at all. Dixie's bigs struggled at SK.

I think Campbell county is going to be better than Holmes when the meet up in the season.

Sorry they don't play this season but if they did I think Campbell would win.

Many seen to forget about Losey, he is a big part of this Camels team. Forget about him and he'll light you up.

Didn't intentionally leave him out; I'm just more familiar with the 3 I mentioned.

As for the Holmes CC talk, maybe they'll meet in the Sweet 16 and we can know for sure! :D

But if that doesn't happen I take Holmes 8 out of 10.

You failed to mention Holmes was missing guys in June. Pretty sure McClendon missed a lot of summer ball.

When the two met at Campbell Co, both teams were at full strength and it wasn't even close. Holmes dominated. Wilson did his thing but that was it. They also had a guard that played well but the rest of their team looked overmatched by Holmes' quickness and athleticism. Jackson even struggled as he couldn't defend Bolden and got lit up for 25+.

Again, Campbell Co is a really good team and I like their talent with McGovney, Wilson, and Jackson but I still think they are a step below Holmes, Newcath, and Covcath this year. Luckily for us, we will know for sure on two out of the three.

McClendon was at SK the week I was there. You seem to have too big a dog in this fight to be unbiased.

Not being biased at all. Just calling it how I see it and that is that CC is a step below the three mentioned teams.

And I've said all summer that I think Newcath and Covcath are likely the top two in NKY this coming season so where is my bias? People who have been around here a while know that I cover and follow Holmes a little closer than most teams but I call it how i see it and give other teams/players the credit the deserve.

I have a great relationship with a lot of the coaches and players in NKY. I have no reason to be biased toward one team. Seems like it is your bias towards Campbell Co that is affecting your judgement on my opinion.
