Did Trinity call off the dogs in the 3rd and play 2nd and 3rd stringers?

Some second and third stringers were in. The starting LBs and down linemen were in when HHS scored. After building a 31-0 cushion, the first/second string offense did not show any where near the intensity of the first two quarters.

What are you talking about? If someone read your post first before seeing the score or any other post you would think the score was 28-6 Highlands. How can you say outside the first play of the game trinity didn't look explosive? What was the score again? You also said Highlands passing game will be a nightmare to defend... How many TD's did they score? Try to be a little more unbiased when describing the game next time.

 

Since you struggle to comprehend the simple interpretation, I will go back to your original post.

So sorry to see all those educational dollars go to waste.....It's not rocket science but "at that pace, Trinity would have won 93-0" I'm pretty sure HHS scored 6 ...... Is this the "new math" I hear about:idunno: It would be refreshing to see some analysis of the game instead of attacks of other's posts. Go to a game, form an opinion, then post, you might gain some respect.

Trinity played a very solid game; they are extremely well coached and should do very well this year albeit against a brutal schedule as usual. I think their short passing game is very good especially on a number of wide screens they continually gained huge chunks of yardage. This really showed up Highlands Achilles heel from all of last year on the defensive side of the ball.

 

Offensively I thought they played ok. They did what they wanted to do in terms of giving the running backs some reps and trying to test the blocking on a real opponent. They will get better. The Bird's really did not open up the offense but I could see some encouraging signs. Beau Hodge can be an excellent QB but needs to recognize when to throw it away and save the yardage instead of taking the sack. For the first time out I was encouraged.

 

Next week against St. X I really look to see more of the same but with improvements on both sides of the ball.

 

I have my reservations for December in Bowling Green and I think I will be using them!

How about spending $6 and you can see how fast he is. No disrespect intended, but you need to get out more to see for yourself, instead of basing your point of view by what people are posting on BGP and scores. :thumb:

I would call 8+ drives as T doing whatever they wanted to do because Higlands couldn't stop them. I also don't think only scoring on long bombs is anything to base an offense on so I doubt Trinity is going into the season thinking they have to beat teams only with the long ball.

 

Now this last assessment you made is more like what I was looking for. Sounds very fair unlike the first one. Nice job.

 

I think the CCH game could be the best we've seen in awhile.

Thanks for approving my last assessment which was exactly the same as my first. My night has been made and I will sleep more comfortably. Also, your reading comprehension sucks. I said that they will struggle to stretch the field. If a team only has to worry about defending 15 yards deep of the passing game, it helps the d. Trinity has a good offensive line and 3 really good and complimentary backs. They will have to sustain drives bc they won't pick up huge chunks at a time w the pass until the QB gets comfortable. I am guessing game 3 or 4. Then, they will be able to stretch the field creating more space for their athlete s to work and become more explosive. I can do this monosyllabically on my next post if you need.

Ok, first off, disrespect was taken.

 

I wasn't at the scrimmage because you know why? No you don't so let me tell you. I wasn't at the scrimmage because I was taking my boy to college this past weekend where he is playing football and needed to get there as their 2 a days started Saturday. Sorry that your beloved Highlands Bluebirds didn't trump my own son.

 

Secondly it was an honest question, I have been a Hoge fan for awhile and if you read any of my posts going into this season you would have known that, so do me a favor and take your condescending attitude elsewhere.

 

Thirdly, I have gone to plenty of Highlands games and have rooted for them. My son's Girlfriends cousin starts on Highlands O-Line and has since he was a sophomore so you can take your elitist attitude somewhere else also.

 

Now since you don't think anyone can talk about or ask any questions about any game or scrimmage unless they actually attended that very game or scrimmage I expect you to never post or ask any questions about any game this year that you don't attend. Lets see you practice what you preach for once.

That is what I kept going back to and you refused to talk about, instead you chose to ignore it and the 31 points scored AFTER the first play all in the first half.

What part of "kind of stifled" did you miss? At no point did I say stopped. Trinity scored on a longish drive in the 1st quarter, and took multiple plays to score on a short field both times in the second quarter. Highlands D did not make enough plays on 3rd down, and Trinity's offense did. That's a compliment to Trinity. In year's past, Trinity broke multiple plays over 25 yards for either TDs or vastly improving field position. That didn't happen this year.

 

It is not black and white. They lost 31-6 in a scrimmage. Just like every other game ever played scores don't give details. I don't know why you are hung up on this? Normally, I wouldn't respond to people replying like that to my post, but you missed the point by so far that I'm actually confused.

Also, there were not 31 points scored AFTER the 1st play. There were 31 points scored TOTAL.
