My take. 1. Trinity is going to be tough to run against. Their ILBers are thick. Dline looked great. 2. Outside of the first play of the game' date=' Trinity really didn't look explosive. Once Highlands settled in and took away the 1st 2 planes of the passing game T was kind of stifled. Their backs run HARD 3. Highlands passing game will be a nightmare to defend again. A ton of dropped passes killed drives. They won't be dropped next week. Hoge looks like the best QB since Gino. There, I said it. 4. Fumbles in their own territory doomed Highlands. can't give T field position like that. 5. Mills is going to see nothing but doubles all year. T couldn't block him one on one.[/quote']

2 after the first at of the game T really couldn't do anything against H's defense. (Didn't T go on to score 31 points after that first play of the game in the first half alone?)

Sorry, but as I said from someone not there, if they read his post first it sounds as if Highlands dominated T after the first play of the game Not even close to reality.

Funny thing is there were a bunch of posts before he posted. So of course you'll take the opportunity to put your antagonistic spin on it.

 

"Didn't look as explosive after highlands made adjustments". No mention of T couldn't do anything. Most reasonable non-biased posters would read his point as H contained the passing game after the adjustments and T beat them with the running game.

 

As to your comment about H's passing game, how many 4A teams are going to have the talent T does? Very few if any. So again his point is valid when looking at more than just this scrimmage.

 

Go argue about Cov Cath not being a top program and let the knowledgeable posters talk about this game.

What are you talking about? If someone read your post first before seeing the score or any other post you would think the score was 28-6 Highlands. How can you say outside the first play of the game trinity didn't look explosive? What was the score again? You also said Highlands passing game will be a nightmare to defend... How many TD's did they score?

 

Try to be a little more unbiased when describing the game next time.

 

Uh I am a NewCath guy. And would you consider 8 plus play drives as explosive? Trinity will struggle to beat teams w the deep ball. They will rely on breaking tackles in one on one situations to put up big plays until their QB gets comfortable. This is why you can't look at a score and make an informed opinion. Highlands stops Trinity on 3rd down a couple more times and the game is different. Trinity wasn't getting first down on 2nd down each time. They grinded it out and won by a large margin. Highlands also gave up a short field on unforced fumbles.

 

Offensively, a lot of dropped passes stalled drives. On top of that, T's d line clearly won their battles and the ILBs were extremely impressive. So, as a result, H couldn't run. That won't happen against anyone else w the exception of this Friday and Elder. As for TDs, they will come. Two TD pass drops and a third caught but out of bounds. Again, it will be a nightmare for 4A.

 

Listen, it pains me to give Highlands credit. However, I watch a lot of their games and what I said was about as unbiased as I could make it. H will have to run the ball better. Trinity is going to have to stretch the field better. Trinity was a better team.

You have no clue. I'm not a Higlands hater and if you would read my post I said I wasn't there and if anyone would have red mexi's post first they would have never known Highlands got blown out.

I would call 8+ drives as T doing whatever they wanted to do because Higlands couldn't stop them. I also don't think only scoring on long bombs is anything to base an offense on so I doubt Trinity is going into the season thinking they have to beat teams only with the long ball.

 

Now this last assessment you made is more like what I was looking for. Sounds very fair unlike the first one. Nice job.

 

I think the CCH game could be the best we've seen in awhile.

Don't you get it? If you know anything about football, just about every team should be able to take away the long ball the majority of the time. Actually the easiest thing to defend.

Afterall all we heard all offseason was how no one could cover Venneman because he is too fast, yet Highlands didn't score anything off of the long ball? Hmmmmm..interesting

 

Again, you are stuck on one thing and that is the long ball, yet you ignore the obvious and that is the comment about "After the first play" Highlands basically shut T down, yet T scored 31 points in no time at all. You have continued to ignore that in every post of yours, instead you talk about something no one cares about because every team can take away the long ball if they want.

8+ play drives tells me 1 thing and that is Highlands couldn't stop Trinity.

How many scores did Highlands score on the long ball?

How many 8+ play drives did Highlands have?

 

Don't worry, I think HHS will once again make it to WKU this year, I'm not a hater as you think. I'm just unbiased and wanted a realistic summary of what happened in the scrimmage and I got it from everyone but you after I posed the question.

So sorry to see all those educational dollars go to waste.....It's not rocket science but "at that pace, Trinity would have won 93-0" I'm pretty sure HHS scored 6 ...... Is this the "new math" I hear about:idunno: It would be refreshing to see some analysis of the game instead of attacks of other's posts. Go to a game, form an opinion, then post, you might gain some respect.
