Yes, Trinity is in Kentucky. But Moeller is not. That is the reason for the qualification.

My take.

1. Trinity is going to be tough to run against. Their ILBers are thick. Dline looked great.

2. Outside of the first play of the game, Trinity really didn't look explosive. Once Highlands settled in and took away the 1st 2 planes of the passing game T was kind of stifled. Their backs run HARD

3. Highlands passing game will be a nightmare to defend again. A ton of dropped passes killed drives. They won't be dropped next week. Hoge looks like the best QB since Gino. There, I said it.

4. Fumbles in their own territory doomed Highlands. can't give T field position like that.

5. Mills is going to see nothing but doubles all year. T couldn't block him one on one.

The above has some truth to it....but there's also quite a bit of hyperbole.

I would like to have stifled team thats up 31~0 before you can get the water bottles off the bus. I take a stifled team like thay any day.

I said kind of stifled. It was like watching an old Boone County game but Trinity converted on screens out of the spread instead of out of the I with a wing. They really just grinded it out. Question, what grade is #16? He impressed me at QB in his limited action.

I think (emphasize "think") that 16 is Ryan Young, a senior and student body president. He filled in quite capably for Reggie Bonnafon last year.

You Trinity fans and Highlands haters can have your fun tonight. When the real season starts things might be a little different.

 

Trinity looked good tonight, then I looked at their schedule. This is definitely NOT the team that Quick and Dawkins were on. With T's schedule they might take some lumps during the regular season. T's place kicker sent kick offs 9 yards deep in the end on the fly, that was impressive.

 

Highlands had some good plays and some terrible plays. There is work to be done for sure. Highlands didn't play a big, bruising RB , if they have one. Hoge has a nice arm and generally is a good decision maker. He has good wheels but only when he could get out of bounds. I'm positive that the HHS coaches told him not to take a hit, for obvious reasons.

Trinity fans can only hope that the Rocks improve as they move along their schedule. It opens at Nashville Ensworth next Friday.

My guess, and mind you it is just a hunch, my guess is Rocks win by 25.

#16 Is Ryan Young. Senior class President. As JV QB last year led them to an undefeated season. 72% completion rate, 29 TD passes, 3 TD rushing with 2 interceptions. Limited action is a surprise.
