Giants @ Reds Series (6/3 - 6/5)

Tough loss. I guess Hamilton has the green light no matter the situation. Hopefully that changes.

Why because he got thrown out at 3rd? He will have the green light at all times.

I didn't see the game. What was the situation where Hamilton was thrown out?

Exactly, his speed has forced how many errors this season? this series?

Led on the 3rd with a single that Posey threw away to allow Billy to get to 2nd. Then was thrown out when Frazier (the next hitter) was up. Made the first out at 3rd.

Not good. Decisions like that will cause the manager to consider taking the green light off, or at least having a don't steal sign he has to look for.

With the Reds ineptness with RISP you can't give Billly the don't steal sign.

A lot, you take the good with the bad.

I hear you on that, but get thrown out at 3B with no outs a couple more times and there will be a don't steal sign. You can count on it.

I agree. If there were 2 outs, okay I'm fine with him going. But with 0 outs, he can score from second on a single. He's already in scoring position with the 2-3-4 hitters coming up.

It has and it's great. He also gets thrown out stealing too much and he needs to be selective when stealing 3rd. As Price said after the game him standing on 2nd with just the threat of stealing is very disruptive too. Getting thrown out at 3rd with no outs and the 2-3-4 hitter coming up was dumb.

Agree with most of your post, the bolded is absolutely false.

Bruce struck out in two at bats without taking a swing I believe. 5 of the 6 pitches were balls according to pitchfx or something similar someone said on twitter last night. Tough to have good AB's when they're calling it that way.

Big question for me is did the Giants have the shift on Bruce in the bottom of the 8th. I was trying to see by the TV angles we had, but if they did, we have a whole bunch of issues. The Giants gave the Reds a gift with an E6 on Phillips. If they had the shift on and Bruce would not bunt him to second(thus also getting an easy single and creating 1st and 2nd with 0 outs), I have an issue with Price and Bruce. Could anyone tell if that was the case.

Bruce had no chance of doing anything against the lefty. He was clueless up there. I'm certain he couldn't have even put down a bunt.
