Top 10 players in Class of 2015

Featured Replies

Saw Jenkins play last year. Idk if he's top 10 but I'm definitely a fan of his game. Reminds me of a bigger Dre Jackson.

Semi agree with this. He is a little bigger than Jackson, but he doesn't score it as well as Jackson. Deondre Jackson can finish well on both sides with both hands, has midrange and pull up game (which Is a lost art), and he knocks down the 3 with regularity and more consistently than Jenkins.

Jenkins has more of a pg mindset, and Jackson a 2 guard, but both could play either position.

Drew McDonald is a top 5 player in the state. His play this spring against top National talent proves it. Who is this Hagen Tyler kid? Have I been under a rock?

Who are your top 5?

Boyle County. Guard. Plays for Hoop Dreams. Can score from anywhere on the court in pretty much any manner. Averaged 24 points a game last season. Shot 90% from the FT line, almost 50% from the field and around 37% from 3.

Keep your eyes and ears open starting now. I expect a big July from him and another great season at Boyle County as well.

Tyler can flat out score. He is so smooth on offense, never stops moving, nightmare for defender to guard. I think everybody in the state will know him soon.

I would like to see Drew matchup with Justin Miller.

In no particular order.

Camron Justice

Ray Spalding

James Bolden

Hagen Tyler

Evan Hall

Jeremiah Tisdale

Jeremiah Bell

Dwayne Sutton

Terrell Gray

Aric Holman(Is that his name? Tall kid from Owensboro)

Good list. Like some others have said, McDonald deserves to be on there - perhaps instead of Holman.

Gotcha. But I'm really a Hall fan and think he should be included. I think he'd be given much more credit if he were on a different high school team. Kid is a very, very nice player. As Wireman has mentioned before, he's a legit (mid-major) D1 player.

I like Holman a hair better than Hall. Holman is as athletic and has more range with his jumper. I can't say I have seen Hall score the ball outside of the paint that much at all.

Remember all... When you see these player rankings, it's mostly opinion and bias, with very little fact.

Drew McDonald is definitely a top 10 and almost certainly a top 5. Justin Miller is a very nice player, more so on offense, but McDonald would have no problem scoring on him. He might have the best post footwork in the state for a big man. He gets great position, uses his body well, and has ability to step out. He can rebound well, and is a strong kid.

If we're putting our money on the stats, He is a leading scorer and rebounder for his travelers team against top level competition in the nation. He very rarely (if ever) gets to play against a "gimme team," and he still produces. He also did it all of last HS season with a loaded starting 5 at NewCath.

Btw... I have no dog in the fight. Have only coached against Drew, and seen him play many, many times.

Between this post and your post about Dre Jackson being better than DJ Jenkins, I'm doubting your player evaluation skills.

The Northern Ky bias on this board in general is impressive. Like the kid at Simon Kenton that no one has heard of who is top 10 in the state? Be serious people.

Oh, I don't think Jenkins is top ten either. Just giving a brief analysis of his game.

A lot of people, myself included, would rank Jackson over Jenkins. I like both kids a lot, but right now I would give Jackson a slight nod.

A Hoop Dreams coach repping a Hoop Dreams player.... No way?!?!? Have you even seen McDonald play?

I agree the NKy bias is strong, but so is the Hoop Dreams bias. Many people on here seeing through the orange and black colored glasses.

In regards to Jackson and Jenkins, they have squared off 3 times in the past year and Jackson has outplayed him all 3 times. If your a numbers guy, check the stats. If your a "seeing eye guy," watch a game. Coach Q, you of all people should know how good Jackson is....

This said... I like Jenkins game and he is a darn good player! Great kid too. Very motivated and a polite young man!

I never said anything about Noah Robinson. I don't think he's top 20 in the state, but he is one of the more sound players in the 8th. Surprised you didn't know that.
