Perry and Tyler

 

Perry doesn't get nearly enough love.

 

Didn't play nearly as much as he should've tonight yet still had 16 against KJ Walton and Davon Dillard of Indiana.

 

Elite level athleticism, very strong, versatile, and can score at all three levels. Easily top 10 in the state, IMO.

It's not really fair to belittle a kid like Abell's accomplishments by saying he's transferring from Indiana to Xavier. If he got 12.5 minutes per game at Indiana, he's probably going to play quite a bit at Xavier. Both of those are high level D1 programs that will get attention from NBA and other professional scouts. I'm pretty sure Thelen would love to play, or even sit at the end of the bench, at either of those schools instead of Bellarmine. Look at a kid like Krebs. Which of his schools do you think meant more to him?

 

Belittle? Wow... Are we a bit sensitive now? It's not belittling if I'm stating facts. Those are the facts, the actual numbers. I never meant to add the fact that he's transferring to be downgrading. It is a fact. My point was, he probably is transferring to get more time. The argument was, pick the school that best suits you. Unfortunately we don't always know that, or see that up front. I stated good things about Abel, and having coached against him, I know how good he is! And, yes, he is an accomplished young man, from Kentucky, which is great.

Back to the topic at hand, I'm going to give my top 10:

 

Tier 1:

1. Spalding

2. Bolden

3. Justice

 

Tier 2:

4. Sutton

 

Tier 3:

5. McDonald

6. Matlock

7. Tisdale

8. Holman

9. ???

10. ???

 

Last two names, I'd need to see more of Jalen Perry, Matt Rose, Jeremiah Bell, Grey, Evan Hall, Terrell Gray, and Hagen Tyler (I've seen some of them, but not all) to really make an informed decision.

 

I would take Tisdale out and add Hall. Add Perry and Gray as 9/10. Haven't seen enough of Tyler yet, in person. Have heard he's really good.

I didnt feel like anyone took more shots than they should've or forced things. For an all star game, everyone shared the ball pretty well, honestly.

 

I did think there were a couple quick 3's but nothing else that really stood out.

I truly feel like once people get an opportunity to see Hagen Tyler they'll see that he is arguably the best guard in the state in the 2015 class. I have yet to see a guard that can do what he does. Bolden and Tisdale are more athletic than Tyler and Justice has a bigger name but I feel like Tyler is a more complete player.

The race for best returning senior in the 11th is between 2 kids, Jeremiah Tisdale of Henry Clay and Jordan Fucci of Tates Creek. I can see why people would take either of them. When I make a top 10 list like this, I'll put a kid with college potential who might have some development left ahead of one who is less of a prospect and might have already plateaued. If you do such for the 11th, I think Tisdale is the kid you give the nod. Fucci is going to be a stellar baseball player and a guy whose really good in high school, so it's not like his accomplishments are anything to scoff at considering basketball isn't even his best sport.

Hatton

Campbell

McDonald has a D1 offer.

 

Ricardo Johnson and Pittman just finished playing D1.

 

Not sure if I'm forgetting others.

What's comical is that some believe otherwise. Check the numbers, on average, and you will see. I guess if getting a d1 offer is all one is looking for then great, being successful is another point. Schulte probably attracted attention because of his size, but has yet to play a second on the floor. Giesler another big body, but probably wouldn't have seen the floor if NKU was healthy. McDonald another big body and good floor IQ, will have trouble with people his own size. You could probably guard him with someone a lot smaller on the outside because his jump shot is more of a set shot. Not trying to be critical but it sounds that way when being honest. And to your point about Vonhandorf and Weyer, if you don't know then its probably inaccurate.

Put a smaller guy on McDonald and he will post him up and kill him. He has no problem scoring on players his own size also. Never realized you got "style" points on how your shot looked either. People need to see him night in and night out to appreciate everything else he does on the floor.
