I looked up the stats for Ray Spaulding and Drew McDonald during this past EYBL regular season on D1 Circuit - Nike EYBL Coverage. Although this is not both players guarding each other in a Trinity/NewCath game, it is still a good and fair comparison of the two players because they were playing against the same level of competition. Although Ray only played six games for the Travelers, that is still a pretty good sample size. Look at the numbers and decide for yourselves:

5.7 Rebounds Per Game 4.2

I don't think anyone is saying Drew McDonald isn't one of the top players in the state. Are people saying he should be a 5 star player like Spalding? Why are we comparing the two?

1st off, I didn't see anything in any post in regards to Mcdonald getting the best of spalding. Secondly even in the video feed that Walter provided, there wasn't one play that Mcdonald scored on where spalding was guarding him. Once again I highly doubt that he got the best of Spalding, because spalding usually doesn't guard the opposing team's best post player. I did see where a poster said Mcdonald gave Owens problems because of his distinct size advantage though. One more thing, the one time it even seems that spalding is guarding Mcdonald in any video I've seen, Mcdonald misses his shot attempt.

Well I guess you haven't heard much about spalding this summer, but take his stats with the travelers with a grain of salt because he was hurt in every game he played with them. Not 100% in a single one.

I know you are one of the few people who have seen spalding play, but for the record he's gotten way better since the season. He was a 3 star then and played like it.

You don't get a scholarship to Louisville and not be a great talent. I just wanted to present my argument for Drew's inclusion.

Gotcha. Yeah, I have yet to see a list I fully agree with. McDonald is easily top 10 and IMO top 5 in the state.

Ankle and knee injuries. And serious enough for him to miss half of the eybl season.
