I would say last year WKU could have argued they had the #2 spot but.......with WKU losing their coach and UK gaining what looks to be a better coach and much better recruiting (for UK better recruiting, very average for the SEC but certainly better than before), WKU better enjoy it for now because it looks that UK will snatch #2 back and (depending on how well Petrino can segue Strong's ways to his and how long he even stays at UofL for that matter), UK will be clawing at #1. Whether #1 is a reality depends on how good of a coach Stoops turns out to be, how well these young, more talented recruits can fill in, how well Stoops can keep the recruiting train going and how well Petrino can replicate what he did a decade ago at UofL and how long he even sticks around this time. There are so many variables it is difficult to predict what will happen and how soon it will happen.

Don't see WKU overtaking UK with the Stoops hire as I think good things are ahead for the Wildcats. However, the Hilltoppers have made great strides since their move into the D1 ranks.
