April 28, 201412 yr Author My company opened up a place in Plano this year, TX is a hot spot. My son's friend teaches at Plane East. 3100 kids in the school. That's only two grades. 3,000 in the other half of the school.

April 28, 201412 yr Just talked to my friends that lives up there. Neither he or his wife work for Toyota but they both work for companies that work for Toyota. They were both informed that their jobs will also be relocating to TX.
April 28, 201412 yr It is a shame. It sounds as if the decline in the airport was a major factor in their decision. Toyota has been a great employer for this area. I know a couple of people who work there and they love their jobs.
April 28, 201412 yr Kentucky has to become more aggressive to keep business in the state and attract new business. State leadership has dropped the ball and all I keep hearing is bad news. In NKY companies are leaving for Cincy, and you keep hearing stories through out the state.
April 28, 201412 yr I have no doubt the airport impacted this big time. A major airport with lots of flights is one of the biggest contributors to a stable and growing economic region. Tax breaks or not, you cannot draw employers that have a large workforce to an area where air transportation is not convenient with non-stop and fly in fly out same day flights. The airport got in bed with Delta a long time ago and it was huge win for NKY. But when you play your cards with one carrier in a city region this size and they move on, this is what happens. I am afraid this is the not the last. I hope Fidelity holds on, they are, I believe the biggest left now in NKY. Big airlines are doing this all over the country. I was in Memphis about a year ago and a Delta employee told me that Delta was no longer using them as a major hub and were cutting flights significantly.
