April 29, 201412 yr I would think that the extreme heat they have in Dallas would be almost as bad as the winter's of the northern states when it comes to what goes into the roads and road construction, of course I don't know, just an opinion and don't have the insight of cross country truck drivers. I do know that this area's road projects drag on for what seems like forever No argument there. As to the road construction process itself, I too, have no idea. Was only going off a conversation I had several years ago with a guy who lived in Michigan. We were talking about roads, and he mentioned that the ground around here has so much clay, that it traps moisture, which can cause big problems with frost heave in the winter. Said Michigan had much more sand in their soil, which allowed the water to drain deeper easier.
