April 28, 201412 yr Cal Ripken ( I'm assuming you're talking about Jr.) and Dale Murphy are very surprising names on least favorite to me. Care to expound on those two, and why they made your list? I loathed the Braves of the TBS years in the early to mid 80's, and Dale was the face of them, so I didn't like him. Plus, with that mole, he always reminded me of John Boy from "The Walton's", and my family always watched that show (which I didn't like), so I held that against him too. On Cal Ripken, Jr., and I'm sure this will spark a debate I don't really care to have, but I think he was incredibly over-rated. He was an accumulator when it comes to stats, just play a long time, stay healthy, and you end up with a good looking box on the back of the card. I played SS my whole life, loved flashy SS that made great plays, but his style never appealed to me. I also loathe Nolan Ryan and Ryne Sandberg, and I put all of them in the same bucket. In short, I don't have good reasons, but don't all of us have players that we don't like without any good reason? Sort of the life of a passionate and opinionated sports' fan.
