Do you have any proof?? I just don't think that number is even close to be true. Only 25% of the students at private Catholic schools are actually Catholic?? I'm sure there are more than a few non-Catholics attending Catholic Schools, but no way is it 3/4 of the student body.

Seventy-five percent of kids playing sports at Trinity and St. X come from non-Catholic families? You are WAY out of bounds on that one.

I was literally the only one in my entire family to go to a public school. I have connections to CovCath, St. Henry, and Beechwood( even though it isnt catholic) I have/had family at these schools. They tell me that a big number of kids that attend, are not catholic.

I can't speak for X or T, but from what I know at Cov Cath and the other Catholic schools in NKY, I'd bet even 75% Catholic is a conservative estimate.

I would love to see Simon Kenton go with an all male student population with 2200 males in the building. Then we would have a more level playing field. Could you imagine the combined rosters of Dixie and SK on a single squad? That would be competitive with the Louisville schools.

It strikes a blow at the KHSAA's credibility when they do silly things like this that are inconsistent.

I would really enjopy knowing the thought process behind Connor and Cooper moving up to 6A. Why would the KHSAA approve this? I get the every team gets in and limiting the 6A to 32 only,,,,,,why not take it to the next step and limit it to 16?

A better example is Scott County now. A large, isolated high school with a diverse population.

Why shouldn't Louisville be a region? It seems from looking at the map on KHSAA, this makes sense. It would break the state into true regions.

 

Regions-based on Population? So 3 versus 4 every season would mean only one Louisville team in the state final? In the other sports, Louisville has a chance for two representatives in the final if the blind draws pan out.

The area that Cooper serves is growing very rapidly and they expect to be 6A size very shortly.

Maybe they should let public schools get kids from all over the state and other states like the private schools due even it up a little? Add about 10 kids from Colerain to the SK roster T and X would be crying!

 

Depending on which school district you live in, these things are possible. You can pay tuition (much cheaper than X of T) and attend practically any Jefferson County school you wish. Come on down!

T and X get kids from Tennessee also.

Why would the KHSAA allow voluntary movement without restrictions at all is the real question there. I think a lot of us pegged that as a mistake from the word go.

 

I think someone suggested 16 teams before (perhaps even you), and I don't know if it's a sarcastic suggestion now, but the reason that to me it would never work is that it would shorten the playoffs by a week. And if you create a shortfall of a week in 6A, they would have a very difficult time of finding games since the rest of the state would be unavailable for games. I suppose you could mandate Week 11 had to be a game against another 6A opponent if you had to, but that just sounds like a logistical nightmare. There are probably some that would advocate for 16 teams though, just to get the heck away from Trinity and X.
