I'm glad Ram mentioned Male and Scott County. Interesting how the Louisville Trinity self-appointed rep of this thread is doing all the lambasting when Trinity lost to Male in the playoffs 31-7 and then Scott Co. beats Male by 14 points in the semis. Louisville teams are in Scott Counties rear view mirror for this season until you earn the opportunity to catch up.

 

In the meantime within a few years you will need to pay more attention to your "new" friends in the west at McCracken County. Just a matter of time before they begin hitting on all cylinders.

 

RAM brings up a great point: Male, Scott Co, and BG are to be commended for adapting, overcoming, and simply executing to win! :thumb: Is it possible the Males, Scott Co and Meade Counties have caught and surpassed Trinity and X? We'll know next season if it was a fluke.

I always hear about the money and gate receipts etc. and here you are saying "None of the publics complain when you all count the gate receipts after hosting Trinity in a playoff game." when in reality the average fan and player could care less about the gate receipts, they just want to win. That's the truth, we dont really care.

 

Is it just the mentality of a private school that all they care about is money? I'm just curious because it seems to be a common theme in a lot of posts in this thread when talking about T.

 

As a football coach, we care about the gate. We can't stand playing teams from Atlanta because they never bring folks and it can end up costing us money in the end.

Just a side note…couldn't help to notice the advertisement for Trinity in the right stanza of bgp this evening. Is it true you Shamrocks have dorms? :sarcastic: I understand winning programs breed success. But I don't see any public schools advertising for open houses.

Considering no one is forced to go to Trinity or "owned" by any of the Catholic schools they need to something to attract students. Seeing as private schools shut down all the time due to attendance waning it is a necessity.

One local theory regarding the demise of the Super District in 2015 is that Male can stand on competitive ground with the local private schools.

Over the past 15 years, name the schools from Kentucky that have actually beaten Trinity and the record against them. It's not going to matter who they are matched with, you will be able to type similar records. They are a different animal.

It's only gold plated? I was always taught in Fr. Hemmerlee's class that they were solid platinum. Man, really hard times. No wonder tuition has been hiked so much in the last 10 years. I mean if the leaders of the church can't expect a couple unmitigated luxuries who can?

 

We may need to stop our genetic engineering program to make the perfect player. Too bad too, we were almost ready. We had DNA from Brian Brohm, Rob Bironas, James Quick, Tim Phillips, Jason Hatcher and Alan Hennessey ready to go. Just were waiting on the current crop of talent to see if they were worth including. Guess we have to scrap that and go back to conditioning actually players. Oh well.

I guess it can be debated, but Bowling Green has beat St Xavier three years in a row: 2011 (28-20), 2012 (38-31) and 2013 (39-25). That seems more like a run, then catching a team down.

 

Scott County has been steadily on the rise and I contribute that rise to the focus of competing with Trinity and St. Xavier. In 2012 Scott County competed with Trinity losing 21-14, very competitive. Then Scott County went on to win the State Championship this past year, not beating Trinity, that can't be held against Scott County Trinity wasn't there.

 

For years I have read on BGP from the Trinity and St. X fans that they respected and thought Male was many times the third best 6A team in the state. Now, sometimes the scores between Trinity & St. X and Male did not reflect that, but I'm giving Male some credit and they did beat Trinity twice in 2013 (24-14 and 31-7) and they beat St. X twice (23-21 and 44-40). So no matter how you slice it, Male beat Trinity twice and St. X twice in the same year. Who else has done that?
