BTW, do all first-round draftees get guaranteed contracts? What would be the expected contract the last first-rounder would get?

All first rounders are guaranteed a 2-year deal with an option that has to be exercised by the club early in the 2nd year that makes it an addition 2-year guaranteed deal. Only a handful of guys have not been given the option for the 2 addition years. Ironically, Daniel Orton was one if I'm not mistaken. NBA contract game is weird. Wes Matthews was undrafted and after one season at the league minimum and on a 1 year deal he had a deal for 5 years and 34 million which is more than anyone in the 1st round in 2009 the year he came out had during that period. For reference the #1 pick in the 2009 draft was Blake Griffin who was locked into a four year deal worth around 23 million per the NBA 1st Round Salary Table which slots salaries for NBA draft prospects. In truth guys that are 1st round picks should sign agents who will only profit based on the endorsements and future contracts the player gets. Not much to negotiate when it comes to salary of a draft pick.

April 9, 201412 yr 30 players in first round. 30th player guaranteed 2 year 2.2 mil contract with 2 additional option years worth another 3.2 mil Is that $2.2 mil for each of the two years or $2.2 mil total for the 2 years? Either way, I think that would be tough to turn down. Does the standard NBA contract pay for continued college education?
April 9, 201412 yr My predictions on who will go or stay..... Randle - YES (A top 5 pick imo) Young - YES, I think that he should stay to mature but believe he's gone, he has all around skills. WCS - ?? , Probably, Only reason that I can't really say absolute yes is that WCS seems to enjoy the college life, team. If I had to make a guess it would be yes. Harrison's - NO - I believe that they are smart enough to know that staying would benefit, raise their stock. Plus, I don't think that their parents seem to be the type that would push them. Johnson - NO - he may but I believe that he will stay. Lee - NO - I think that he has already said that he is looking forward to next season. So, I say that two for certain, probably three leaves for the NBA.....Randle, Young and WCS.
