April 4, 201412 yr I read a story recently about the rise in other states' law enforcement pulling over cars with Colorado plates and searching for marijuana. Could be an example of a witch hunt in the making? Just Good Police Work Ma'am! In all honesty you'd probably have better luck pulling over cars with non-Colorado plates that were leaving the state.

I believe my son is going to do something slightly tangent to the assignment (it has been teacher approved). In short, his essay is going argue that "witch hunts" are a necessary evil to ensure National Security. We both realize this is a hot topic and more than anything this one will really make my son think. I also made him listen to Merle and we talked about the words, if I was writing my son's essay I would title it: "The Figthin' Side of America"

My advice is whatever position he takes challenge him by taking the other position and make him say why yours is wrong. Nothing worse in a topic discussion where the "other" side hasn't been considered.

Here is another definition of witch hunt: an intensive effort to discover and expose disloyalty, subversion, dishonesty, or the like, usually based on slight, doubtful, or irrelevant evidence.
