That's fairly selective of you to pick those teams. Have you forgotten the Simpson/Lawrence years? How long has it been since DH or Campbell dominated? Ryle had a good run.

It was close to a coin flip with me but the deciding factor for me anyway was Dixie's defense. I believe last year they were among the states best defense giving up among the fewest points and they have just about all their starting D players returning.

 

Then on top of that they will have a 3 year starter at QB returning and if he worked this offseason on his technique and footwork, has the possibility of being one of the areas best behind Hoge. He also has a D1 target at TE returning and could be huge. The defense though is what gave them the nod IMO.

Just the most recent years. So it was SK in 2008 but they didn't dominate. Got crushed by Boone in the regular season. They did dominate in 2009. In 2010, it was Ryle. In 2011, Boone was the best team although Campbell was district champ. In 2012 Campbell was district champ although they lost in playoffs to SK.

Highlands on the other hand has 1 loss to an NKY team since 2006. IMO, That is domination!

There hasn't been any team in 6A that has dominated in NKY. Just about every year for awhile has been a different team winning. Last year was the first year I can remember SK dominating since the Miles era.

Since Marksberry has been coach at SK they have the best record and most playoff wins in NKY 6A.

Not real sure I agree with this assessment. How about Abner, Urlage, Feggins, Hoge, Weyer, Pangallo, Gall just to name a few. All of these guys have gotten significant minutes their first 2 years.

 

Again, few in NKY know those names outside of HHS other than Hoge and with the talk over the past 4 years being all about this departing class I can see where people would anticipate a drop off.

We'll see, but I'm not sold. For one thing I know that earlier in the year they had 5 seniors starting on D. Now some of them may have gotten hurt during the season prompting a Jr or a Soph to fill that role, but using that same reasoning, CCH returns 8 starters on D and 8 starters on O.

If people want to hype other teams up then I say go for it.

It's like I said, it was close to a coin flip for me but I saw Dixie p,ay at the end of the year and I saw CCH play at the end of the year and Dixie's D was much more dominate IMO. CCH seemed to struggle with Ryle who didn't really have an ofense to speak of, although it could have been a down day for CCH, I just know Dixie against a much better offense shut them down pretty much when they played Cooper that same week.

1. Highlands ... come on, how can you even think about anyone else at #1.

2. Simon Kenton ... give them their due credit.

3. Cov Cath ... looking at the lists above, IMO they lost a lot, but I think Wirth has the program in reload mode, not rebuild.

4. Dixie ... some serious stars returning but I am not a believer in the program yet.

5. Campbell Co. ... I really wanted to rank them above Dixie because they do look to have the program rolling, but Dixie has those studs.

6. Beechwood ... this should be their best team since 2011.

7. New Cath ... I have some doubts, but I had some doubts about last year too and they always seem to put it together.

8. Ryle ... Just a guess because there is talent on the roster.

9. Conner ... Similar to New Cath, I have doubts but they seem to find a way.

10. Cooper ... I wonder about Boone, but I will go with Cooper at 10.
