Highlands should be king until someone in NKY de-thrones them. Not looking at the past for an NKY preseason ranking, particularly in Highlands' case, seems just as silly as making them Number 1 based off of the past... If that even makes sense.

100% wrong, the only starters on D Dixie lost, were Fisk, LB and Reisch DE, the other starters returning are as follows, Owens Lb, Johnson DT, Harrison CB, Machlitt DE, Schulte S, Fields CB, Zajack LB, N Caple, LB, Brown and Barmore rotate DT, Dixie D will be loaded.

We'll see, but I'm not sold. For one thing I know that earlier in the year they had 5 seniors starting on D. Now some of them may have gotten hurt during the season prompting a Jr or a Soph to fill that role, but using that same reasoning, CCH returns 8 starters on D and 8 starters on O.

I've watched both young men play the past couple of years, Moore is the better QB, JMO, he's getting all kinds of Div 1 looks as well. Saw him play in the NKY basketball games at NKU, he's got to be 6'4 or '5 now, and around 190-195 he looks great. best of luck to both players this season. JMO

It was close to a coin flip with me but the deciding factor for me anyway was Dixie's defense. I believe last year they were among the states best defense giving up among the fewest points and they have just about all their starting D players returning.

 

Then on top of that they will have a 3 year starter at QB returning and if he worked this offseason on his technique and footwork, has the possibility of being one of the areas best behind Hoge. He also has a D1 target at TE returning and could be huge. The defense though is what gave them the nod IMO.

I can't believe more people aren't on the Campbell County band wagon, 45-50 Jrs. return. I think they are going to be really good this season. The only thing that I have a question about is there 6' 8"QB, guessing it's the same kid who played freshman 2 years ago, has his throwing gotten any better, if so, look out for the camels.

Hoge will definately be fun to watch this year. :thumb:

 

Can you imagine the drama that went on when Beau refused to play QB in Canton his time up there. It wasn't good! Wanted to play WR & DB. He had 2 picks in one game by route jumping. Thinking like a QB? Read yesterday the kid that took Beau's spot at QB received his 1st offer yesterday from SMU. Dewayne Haskins!

Dixie lost two of it's best players Fisk and Caple. Hope they can fill that void. But I do agree Dixie has a lot returning on D.

The only thing I see that can hurt Dixie is kids playing both ways. I think a lot of the seniors will play both ways this season.

Didn't SK loose to a team by two scoresthat barely beat CCHS who lost to Highlands by 50?

 

I've said it once and I will say it again. Each game is like a snowflake and it's all about the matchups.

And SK got handled by the 5th best 6A team in Louisville while Campbell barely lost to them, so CC was better than SK. Meanwhile HHS crushed Campbell by 42 while SK won by 20. Any other comparisons you want to make?

If people want to hype other teams up then I say go for it.

 

Nothing wrong with my Birds being the underdog this yr...they have proven over the years they can wear that hat too... Just sayin:thumb:

 

When was the last time that they were the underdog going into the season??? 1997 when the Colonels returned every body.
