Never had the chance to meet Birdsfan and I've not been on here

long, but just reading his posts and the posts others have put on

here about him you can tell he was a great guy.

Prayers for his family.

I never met Birdsfan but I believe he made me a better person anyway. I can remember my early days on BGP, before I had found my sea legs. BF and I seemed to butt heads quite a bit, especially over Highlands and in many P&R forums. The longer you are a member, you learn about other members, thier politics, their passions, and their personality. I learned from Birdsfan that even though we didn't agree on much you can still be friendly and good humored with one another. Birdsfan impressed me in many other ways, his love and passion for his Birds is second to none but more importantly he was very giving man and a great representative of his faith. I can imagine it would be very easy to be very bitter in life while playing the hand that Birdsfan was dealt but he did so with great courage and he seemed to always be happy. From reading his post on here I learned that he was very deep into his faith and had volunteered as a drug abuse counselor. He seemed to always be giving something to others, he fought his health issues with great courage and as many BGP members have attested to he was always a great friend. The world has lost a great man but I believe the way he lived his life will inspire those of us left here to try and be a little more like him. I know I will.

I also never had a chance to meet BF, but like many others I have had many conversations on here with him over the years. From a very serious discussion to where we absolutely disagreed in one thread, to him poking fun and adding a sly little smiley in the next thread over so that you knew he was having fun, he always was very engaging, and always a pleasure to talk to. I always thought it was cool that he would join us "youngsters" in those first Late-Niters threads, he hung right in there with us until the wee hours of the morning sometimes.

He will definitely be missed, BGP lost a legend.

Rest in Peace, Birdsfan. And just for you, Go Birds!

I am not good with these things.

Just want to say prayers sent up hoping everyone around Dave can heal from this tragic loss and pain.

Peace my brother.

I have come to this thread a half dozen times to type something but nothing seems adequate to say how I feel.

My heart is really hurting, and I feel very empty today. The loss of Dave is going to leave a void in all those who knew him, especially those closest to him. He was such a blessing. He was probably the wittiest person I have ever known, and I don't have any doubt that he was the most loyal. If Dave was your friend, then he was 100% your friend, there was no doubts. He was a very talented writer, and he had a knack for saying just what needed to be said in just the right way. It is his talent that you see all over BGP. From our terms of service, to forum descriptions, to newsletters, etc., it was Dave's hand that penned a large portion of anything official that needed to be in black and white. Whenever any of us needed to write something that we wanted to be well written, it was always Dave we turned to, whether it was editing, proofreading or just outright writing it, Dave was the man for the job.

He has inspired me over the years in more ways than he ever knew. I learned a lot from him about life, love, loyalty and friendship. I will miss him greatly. As others have said, I am so happy to think about him shedding this old corruptible body and donning a new uncorruptible one in Heaven. I would love to have been there to watch him dancing down the streets of gold, what joy that would have been. I wouldn't wish him back here to this life for anything in this world, but I am comforted to know that I can look forward to the day when I can go and see him again.

I have typed this with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye because I am sad. My sadness is not for him, but for me because I am going to miss him.

I never met Birdsfan but feel like I've known him for years just by reading his posts and occasionally having a conversation with him in a PM. I've followed the updates on his condition daily. Sad to see this day come. He will be greatly missed.

I've said on here 1000 times how much admire true loyalty. It's at or near the top of the list of attributes I value.

While I'm blessed with a couple of true friends that will be loyal til my last breath I could always use more loyal friends who are as loyal as my guy RTS.

So while I pray for the soul of our friend Dave I also pray for those that are still with us who loved him so . Dave is no longer feeling any pain. His friends are filled with pain and sadness. I pray for you all.

I had the honor of meeting Birdsfan once, and while it was quite a few years ago, the one thing that sticks in my mind is how he was always having fun. Cracking jokes, smiling, just enjoying life. I'll always remember how much he appeared to simply enjoy every day.

The world lost a good one. Continued prayers for he, his family, and friends. You will be missed.

My heart just sank when I read the thread title. I am so sorry to hear this and my thoughrs and prayers are with Dave's family and friends.

Just can't find the words to express how much the loss of our dear friends BF will mean to all of us. You are in a better place my friend. Prayers and angles for all that knew and loved him.

The best thing about BGP is that it increases our circle of friends, the worst thing is that it opens up more avenues of pain when we lose these friends.

I wish I had eloquent, or even adequate words right now to tell all that Dave meant to me. I don't. My feelings are raw, my mind is numb and I am crushed with sadness.

I posted my first video creation on YouTube last week. It was so bad that, in just three days, it went fungal.
